Great game for the 5-10 year-old set but older kids may get bored easily
I initially saw this game during Amazon's gold box deal, during which they cut the price in half to $10. Apparently I wasn't fast enough and missed the deal after only 35 minutes of availability. But it did get me to look more closely at the game, and I decided to try it out even at the full $19.99 price.I have two daughters, 5 and 8 years old, and they were very excited when I received the Amazon box and unpacked the game. I had some trouble finding the right slot to plug the mat into (HINT: the mat plugs into the Gamecube controller port, which is located under a white cover at the top of the Wii). After figuring that out, we were up and playing in no time.My daughters loved that we could use our Mii's, and started playing immediately in the Free Play area. Free Play mode lets you take on any of the 24 minigames in any order. Unlike Treasure Adventure mode, this mode lets you configure the difficulty of each game you'll play -- but only if you do well in a game and unlock the subsequent difficulty as a result. However, you start at "easy", and thus it helped my daughters to figure out exactly how to play the game successfully. Some of these games are more difficult than others, as you have to press the symbols on the mat in a certain order, or a certain amount of time to avoid losing the mini-game. My five year-old has trouble with a few of the more advanced ones. My daughters seemed to especially like the rewards earned for completing the mini-games, which so far have consisted of new outfits for the Miis. The mat is rather small, so playing multiplayer on one pad is tight unless they are both little kids. The pad is a rather responsive though, with some nice leeway built into each area to ensure that steps and hand presses can be a little imprecise but still count in the game.I like the game because it requires jumping, running in place, and some precise hand/foot placement in a variety of game settings. From being chased by mummies and boulders to swinging over spikes with vines to running from collapsed bridges to jumping out of the way of sharks, there's enough environmental variety to make you forget that running is the one thing you'll be doing for a majority of your playtime. My girls were breathing heavily from exertion on quite a few of the mini-games. Overall a great game for the pre-tween set, but older kids may get bored easily.

Active Life Explorer = Great purchase for Wii!!
I saw this in store first and thought it looked quite fun for my 3 year old. He is completely obsessed with the Wii, and absolutely LOVES to play games daily. I figured I needed to get him moving instead of just sitting there playing driving games, or puzzle games and thought this would be perfect. I passed it up in store since I had just bought him stuff for Christmas, but planned on getting it in the near future. I was checking out Amazons site for different Wii game reviews because I was getting another game for my husband and I wanted to read other user reviews. I came across this game again, and was very happy to see that it was about $15.00 cheaper on Amazon than it was in the store. I could not pass that up, so I ended up buying it that day. It was shipped to me basically 2 days later (Thank you free shipping!) and when my son saw that I bought something specifically for him, he was ecstatic! We opened it up and put it on immediately. It took him a little while to get used to the Pad that you use to play the game with, but once he got used to it, he was hooked! He has to use some coordination and balance to stay on the foot circles, and finish the courses, but the game makes it very easy for kids to do that. They have easy and hard courses for the kids to choose from, and once you complete certain missions the kids can unlock new costumes, as well as new courses. You can play in a few different modes like free play as well as "competition" type mode. My husband thinks it is great as well. At first he thought you bought him another game! Once he actually tried it though he saw that it really does make you work! He was impressed that you get a workout even though the missions are somewhat short. At first I was bummed that the missions were short, but I think they are short so that kids can get through them. They are continually moving, and would probably get pretty pooped out if they were any longer! I am glad that they came out with a game for Wii that gets m kid to participate with what is going on, onscreen. (Other than the great dance games they have out there!) Great product, I would definitely recommend for any kid Wii lover. It lets the kids play a game, while getting some exercise as well, so sneaky! =)

I ordered this game last October thinking that it would be a great Christmas gift for my 4 year old son, especially in the winter when it's too cold to go outdoors. However, when I did not receive it by the delivery date I contacted the seller. They told me they were going to send me another one and if I ever received the first one that I should return it. I never received either of the games. I have continually contacted the sellers in order to get a refund and they still have not refunded my money and this is six months later. Hitgaming Video Games are thieves. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS GAME FROM THEM!!!!
