The vent hood motor in the apartment I live in finally conked out, after threatening to ever since I moved in, five years ago. Locked up tight.As I tend to err on the cautious side when dealing with landlords, I figured this was a simple enough repair I could do it myself, and bite the cost. At about $75, after tax, etc., this seemed like the best choice out there.When I got it (a day earlier than promised...noice!) I noticed it had a slightly different design, and it was a definite improvement over the rattling old original: these replacements have a totally sealed bottom now, so grease can't get up inside the motor, and they also have a "run cap" attached. It starts up VERY smoothly and is MUCH quieter than the original.Anyone who knows which end of a screwdriver to hold and how to pull a plug out of a socket can make this repair, so if you've got one of the "Allure" series hoods and need a new fan, this is it.

Exact fit for my vent fan. Looks like this motor has a starter capacitor, so it may minimum my issue of old motor not starting initially.
