7 inch skinner DAMASCUS BLADE knife blank, 3.5 inch blade. This is a great Damascus knife! Made from 1095 and WS1 steels. There are 260 layers. Damascus adds a very unique and sought after looks in knife making. With it comes some extra maintenance, it needs to be kept clean and oiled, or it will rust. A little machine oil one a month, depending on use, wipe on and wipe off is all you need to do. The holes in the blade are pilot holes, and they will need to be drilled for the correct size pins. We send 1/8 inch pins with our kits. The kit includes the blade, the wood scale indicated (2 pieces of wood, the correct size for the blade handle), the correct size and number of pins (brass or nickel), and detailed step by step instructions. This is a simple project that can be a starter knife for beginners. You will need something to cut the handle material (scales), a drill for the rivets (Pins), a clamp or two, and sandpaper. We also recommend a five minute epoxy to attach the handle to the blade. The photo is of a comparable kit.

Disappointed
Bought this as a gift for my fiancé. Unfortunately it only came with one pin and the knife seemed a little wobbly when I laid it down (read the reviews) so in order to figure out if I should return it or not I had to ask him his opinion so there goes the surprise :/ he said that the knife wasn’t made perfect that it is not completely straight but it should be fine and that the one pin is large enough that he can just cut it in half n have his second pin. Goodbye surprise but at least he liked it. Lol

Good Kit BUT be careful you might be missing parts!
The first kit we ordered was missing the pins and there was no info to be found except the instructions. I contacted amazon to see if they could just send replacement pins and each time they said to return/replace. Such a pain as the block and blade were great. We got the replacement and indeed the pins and a card with seller info was in there- a pain we now have to go down to ups to get it shipped back- nobody has time for that right now 😑 I’m not sure if this was Amazon or the seller.ABOUT the knife-Awesome kit! The Purple Heart is beautiful wood. The blade is sharper than expected and beautiful as well. We have bought 2 different kits and we would be back for more if we were confident we would receive the full kit and not have to hassle with a return. These will be gifts for our sons to make with their dad and should hold until they are old and pass to their own kid! My husband made a knife around their age and he still has it.Work on quality control and it would be a perfect set. I’m not confident to buy and send as a gift.

The pins are way too small for the holes in the tang, I had some cutler pins from another project so it wasn't a big deal for me, other then that very happy with it
