The non-clip part comes from these star-shaped bits of rubber that look glued on. They are thick enough to feel through the sock when you walk. I wanted to return them at this point but decided to just 'get used to it' rather than dealing with the return hassle. After a few days wearing these inside the house and two washes there is now a large hole at the bottom of the sock.

Great sock but they have small rubberized things on the bottom that I don’t like. I suppose they are to kept you from slipping but they just fell like I’m walking on something the kids left on the floor. Since I usually wear house slippers ( you don’t feel it then) it’s not a big deal but that’s why I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars
