PetSafe Freedom Replacement Pet Door Flap, Non-Toxic Material, Size Large

This is a well made replacement flap for our PetSafe dog door. It IS the manufacturers replacement. We had taught our dogs to ring a bell hanging on the door knob when they wanted to go out. But with 3 of them and them wanting to go out just to look around it was getting a bit tiresome - then we came across this - WOW This dog door insert for our sliding glass patio door is a life changer! We actually have not attached the entire insert to the frame of the door, but choose to lift it in and out at night so that unwanted critters don't invite themselves in. But there is also a sweet cover that slides in place to keep the slap secured too. Whether you attach it our not having this little flap that your animals can use themselves and regulate their own yard time with is awesome. Now, for the replacement flap installation. It SHOULD have been a snap right? I took the door and laid it down, removed the screws and the plastic that holds the flap in place from the opposite side, then proceeded to reinstall both. Well, you got the part about the screws being on one side and the plastic that holds them in place being on the other right? It was quite the acrobatic feat to hold the new flap in place, put in a screw AND have it actually insert and screw down tightly into the plastic holder on the opposite side. Ok so my door was laying down - BUT - if it were screwed into the wall /door frame then I would still need to be on both sides of the door at the same time. and if your door is mounted on the left side and you are right handed it means you are holding the plastic in place with your right hand and trying to insert and screw things into tiny holes with the left hand. It is logistically awkward, so my recommendation is that you have someone help you by either holding the guard in place while you use the screwdriver or visa versa. You also have to make sure you have the right amount of slack so that the magnet catches properly at the bottom of the door and there is no sag in the sides. All in all it is a great product and a really well made replacement flap. 5 stars all around. Pros: fits perfectly - it is made for the door easy to attach with the screws and plate at the top of the flap - swings in and our effortlessly. very heavy rubber-like product - but at the same time lightweight enough for small dogs or cats to push through easily. visually nearly see through easy for pets to use magnetic edge at the bottom and bristle-like brushes on the sides keep it closed and secure when not being used by the fur friends. Long lasting! cons: not really any cons to mention here - it is a replacement because eventually the flap does wear out and not seal quite as well. BUT- we have had our for 4 1/2 years and have 3 dogs constantly going in and out the door.

This PetSafe original OEM replacement pet flap door was a perfect fit. The flap fit perfectly as well and does a great job restricting about 99% of airflow, which was important for me. The plastic material feels quite durable and well made. I have a wall entry, and it fit exactly as expected. Installation was quick and easy—remove the old flap and install the new one. Very straightforward. The last PetSafe flap I used from this company lasted six years, and based on the quality and tight seal of this replacement, I’m hoping to get another six years out of it. Excellent fit, durable material, easy installation, and great value at only $9.99. Definitely a five-star product.

Fit perfectly to replace the flap on my dog door. I had left it outside and it had gotten dirty and shrunk in the AZ heat so had to replace it with this. My old one was dirty and hard to see out of and this one makes my dog door look brand new again. Instructions made it easy to replace the flap & suited my needs perfectly. Much cheaper than buying a whole new dog door! Grateful for this being sold on Amazon at a great value

The replacement flap fits and works well, but did not come with any screws so I used the original screws which had small heads. Over time, the flap holes at the top stretched just enough that the flap kept falling off the screw heads. Also the back of the door where the screws threaded into was a plastic piece that broke when I undid the original screws. I had to go buy a nut, bolt and washer set and to properly fasten the flap on. The manufacturer should include these with the replacement flap.

I had a battered five year old doggy door flap that needed replacing. The way the dog door was installed however, left openings on the inside of my home, followed by a “hallway” of sorts and then the outdoor flap. The opening for inside my home had no flap and looked unsightly. I purchased two of the medium sized flaps and they look so much better. They were easy to install, the size is perfect (you don’t have to measure) and the material is sturdy. I live in Arizona, so I know the outdoor flap will get beat up by the sun and will need replacing sooner than later, but seeing how easy it was to replace, I’m not worried about it at all. Great product.

I purchased this to replace my old flap which had started falling apart after a few years. It fits just as it should and was easy to install. Note that you have to save the screws and nut bar from the old flap as it does not come with these.

I finally got around to installing this and it was easy to install. The quality of the plastic is durable and not cheaply made. It withstanding my 3 lilies dogs using it. It was suitable for my doggy door and it looks great. I like it because you can’t see through it and it’s with stand the rain and wind .

Easy to replace. Works great and I like they have the metal bracket to attach to the frame vs the cheap plastic ones I have used in the past

Great idea. Such a relief to be able to buy just the replacement door. Fits perfectly, easy to install, just five screw holes to line up. Only took needed was a screwdriver. Can not praise this item enough.
