ECCPP Lift Support Rear Hatchback Struts Gas Springs for Toyota Prius 2008-2015,for Toyota Prius Plug-In 2012-2015 Compatible with 6244 Strut Set of 2

Worked perfectly as a replacement for the original parts on my 2008 Prius, with one caveat: these struts extend very slightly longer than the original, and have a little bit more resistance. This seems to not be an issue, it's just that the hatchback opens with a little more force than before (maybe warn your family), goes a few degrees higher, and requires just a little more effort to close. No instructions included but none needed, as the installation was surprisingly easy -- just a small flathead screwdriver to remove the retaining clips on the old struts, then the new ones snap into place. I'll have to check back in 6 months or a year, but so far these seem great and the price was excellent compared to ordering OEM or going to the dealer.

Easy to install. Completely fixed the problem and cheap. Sturdy product too. What more can you ask for.

Installed just like the video. Get a helper to hold the hatch up because even a fully functioning single strut won't hold it up.

Fit my 2011 prius perfectly. Installed in less than 3 minutes with the help of my wife to hold the door up.

My hatch wasn't going all the way up. I ordered these, they came in the next day and took 10 minutes to replace. I wish all my problems were this easy to fix.

If I had paid better attention to the instructions before starting, I would have done it right the first time. Instead, I pulled the clip off of one before installing it. I had to throw the new unit away and buy a second set because it wouldn't stay in place.Read first, then install.

So this review is about 6 months after purchasing this item (2 lift support struts for my 2008 Toyota Prius). Reason for the one star is these caused damage to my vehicle. Let me explain.These struts do not dampen (meaning they pop the hatch up fast without slowing down). After 6 months of this happening, the part that connects to the car became loose (on strut it screws in), and as I opened my trunk today, the weak clip popped off, the shock sprung out, and the hatch slammed on the strut causing damage to the car. I checked the other strut, and the other clip litterally fell out (on base). Cheap clips. I am not one to be negative but holy... Avoid.

Bad product, very cheap and dangerous! When you open the trunk, it's like a spring getting back in your face. They should not sell this product!
