It’s a Hard Worker. Had a drain that was over flowing and put all 4 next to the drain. I saw some water pooling after the socks and thought that these did not work. After awhile went to lift up the socks to move and all 4 socks were 100% saturated with water. I can only image if the socks were not by the drain I would have had a flood . These socks did a fine job and glad I had purchased.

Delivered well packaged. Seem durable and well made. Stored all 12 of them back in the original box in a large plastic bag to keep any moisture from making contact with them until used.

Worked well in absorbing water. Dried out ok. Only gave it a four star because one had stitching coming loose

I love "The Pig" now... never thought I would say something like that! I built this polycarbonate frameless dome in my backyard a year ago. It has withstood tons of different snow and rain storms and all sorts of weather without issue. But the one problem with it, which was really my fault, was I did not build it on a platform that was high enough. The base right now is built up 3 inches, but I did not realize that my backyard does flood a LOT from time to time due to poor drainage and no pitch. This only happens when it pours nonstop for about five hours, not during normal rainstorms, but I became aware of this issue during the last downpour in autumn. It got one corner of the rug wet, and I was able to resolve it, but it took a while of wet vaccing it because capillary action had the tiny bit of water soak into the rug. After that was when I started looking into solutions, and I came upon this product. I liked it especially because of the narrow long shapes, which allowed me to completely encircle the base of the dome's interior. Well, this week, it was really put to the test, as you can see from the camera screenshot of my flooded yard. My yard turned into an absolute lake for about 2 hours (thought Noah might come to visit), which had me feeling nervous because of the rug and the fact that I have electronics and a power outlet in the floor. However, everything was kept safe. The water tried to come in a few inches but most of it got sucked into the pigs instead of the rug. The water receded at just the right time and this time barely any of the rug needed to be dried out. I'm looking for a longer-term solution like installing a French drain, but that will take a week or two, and in the meantime, I feel pretty secure that I have these pigs. They do take a while to dry out in the sunshine, but after a few days, I think they are reusable, too, another perk.

Absorbs water as expected. One area under the garage door allows the water underneath to form a puddle. The pig keeps the area dry.

Love, Love, Love. This item did exactly what I was hoping it would do. Without sounding pretentious, after 12 years we finally had our vintage upright coke machine refurbished. After spending a chunk of cash and how cool this thing looks, I did not want to simply relegate it to the garage. So we brought it inside, in our office. We did not realize how noisy it is let alone the amount of condensation that it generates. Thus the need for these Absorbent socks. The coke machine has a tube that drains the condensation into a ball jar which is kinda cool. Until your wife complains that there is water on the floor and the jar is full. I remembered hearing about products that would Absorb moisture that come in small buckets. So I went online and I found these absorbent socks. The price was great even though I did not need 12 of them. I also liked the fact that they are reusable. So, just this last weekend I had to check the ball jar to see about emptying it. I opened up the machine and the sock appeared to have absorbed the moisture. I looked down and saw that the ball jar was BONE dry! I could not believe it! So I pulled the wet sock out and replaced it with a new one. I hung up the water absorbed one in the garage to dry for now. I made a mental note when I replaced it so that I can monitor how long I can wait to replace it. We like to go on vacation at times and I really did not want to come back to water everywhere. Long story short, I understand, for us, that this is very application specific, however every incident is going to be application specific, right? This just may be the ticket for your application to finally get that water out of a damp area. It is our first use of this product so I cannot tell you about mildew smell. I am hoping if it drys thoroughly that it shouldn't smell. I will try and get a photo posted soon.
