Q: How is the grip from the sole , they seem to not have much on them ?

The tread on the sole is not very deep so the grip is no better than you get with trainers, I have found they can be quite slippy on wet surfaces the soles are also quite hard not very much rubber which doesn't help the grip

Q: Some reviews say they need spraying to keep them waterproof. but gortex lined boots do not need spraying. are these boots gortex which leaks?

I have had not problem with these shoes. Fully waterproof from day one no spraying needed. However as with any boot when it gets older the leather/suede part drys out and become less flexible. I spray that part of my boots annually. These are great boots.

Probably light enough and I found them to be waterproof living Scotland they need to be. My only concern is I found the soles to be pretty firm and not ideal for long days in the hills Personally I prefer boots with vibram soles which in my opinion offer better grip in the wet. It's down to personal choice I would add they are pretty good value .

Q: Do you do wide boots?
