Door Knocker with Viewer, Satin Nickel,6-3/4"

I really like this knocker/viewer. It installed easily and looks great. I checked the home improvement store first, but all they had was the type without the viewer. I needed one with the viewer, since that's the way my old, weathered knocker was, and I like the look (and security) much better. I checked online and there were some cheap ones for like $10, but stay away from those! They are small, thin, have a poor finish, are not solid brass, and are very cheaply made (believe me - I got one and immediately returned it! Just think - those have got to be very poor quality if selling for around $10 or less). Anyways, a couple things to know about this one: You will have to drill two holes for the mounting screws, and the two screw heads will be visible on the inside of your door (but I'm OK with that, it's a clean look). You will also need to drill a hole for the viewer if you don't already have a hole there. MEASURE VERY CAREFULLY on your own, because the measurements in the instructions are not 100% accurate. Also, start with small pilot holes at first so you don't damage the door's finish beyond the drilling area. Next, this comes with two sets of mounting screws: one set for thinner doors, and one set for thicker doors. Neither worked for me. However, that was a very easy fix with a visit to the home improvement store: I got the same type of screws in a (just-right) 2" length for $1, which worked perfect for me (my door is 1-3/4" thick). So, overall I am very happy with this purchase. With this knocker/viewer, a little bit of paint, and a new entry mat, my entry way looks brand new.

Great Door knocker. It has a very clean look to it and the peep hole isn't obvious. It's a little on the thin side but I guess you don't need much. It was easy to get engraved. It wasn't the easiest to install. Would have liked a template to assist with lining up the screws. Other than that, it looks very professional.

I like the overall door knocker, but the lens in the peephole was broken, thus causing me to have to purchase a replacement peep hole. Quality assurance has something to be desired.

I just used the peek hole to hold mine on.... No screws necessary! Fantastic product.I wish it was a bit bigger, but I'm not mad at the size at all.

We wanted to replace the knocker on our new house because the old one was gold, and I am not a fan of gold accent pieces. Unfortunately, the old knocker's viewer hole was slightly larger (and not drilled straight) than this one, so it took a little more time than we had wanted to spend to put it on.

It might be obvious to some but don't buy this if you have a fiberglass door. Our old door was wood but the new one is fiberglass which absorbs the sound.As others have mentioned the instructions are useless. How much more would it cost to include a template since 2 of the 3 holes are in the back of the knocker so aligning the screw holes is more difficult than one might think.

Everything about this product is great except the viewer. The visibility is very blurry and deceives the purpose of a viewer.

We had a smaller nickel door knocker on the door but wanted to replace it with a new one, so I ordered this one. It looks beautiful! It covered the original holes in the door, the peep hole was the same. The funny thing is that all our friends asked us when we put it on because the other one was so small you didn't even notice it. We have a white door and the knocker looks fabulous.
