Question 2

Can it be cleanly removed with wood against wood. How strong will it hold

I have used this tape often to hold a plastic sheet material to a wooden template for routing the plastic.  I have never seen evidence of residue from the tape on the plastic or the wood after use.  The tape is really very strong for my use.   I find that using only enough tape to cover approximately 10% of the surface area of the template works very well to hold the plastic for routing work.  I then use a wide a wide putty knife to pry the plastic and template apart after routing.

Will this tape pull the surface off of mdf if i make templates with mdf?

Thank you for sending us an inquiry. The XFasten Woodworking Tape would certainly work on MDF and its Silicone adhesive is designed to adhere strongly to the surface and still not leave a sticky residue nor damage the surface upon removal. It will not pull off the paint and you can just easily peel off the adhesive from the surface.

would this be good to use to hold a template for painting stars on a recently stained surface?  I am making flags.  Thanks

I don't know why not, but I would test it on a scrap piece of the stained material before using on the actual project.  They claim the tape leaves no residue and I found no evidence of one on bare wood.  You won't need to use a lot of tape as it is very sticky.
