Godsend For The Converted Guitarist
As a guitarist who plays bass in a home studio, my picking-hand technique leaves something to be desired. Floppy, spastic thumbing and faux banjo-rolls hardly make for a consistent tone on an electric bass, and the latter have on occasion caused some of those 'important for playing the guitar' right hand nails to come flying off at inopportune moments, and that's not to mention the "ouch" factor. Enter the rubber Wedgie. (there's a sentence you don't get to type every day) I bought the thick (5.0mm) ones in hard and soft versions. Don't yet know how well they'll wear, but they make it very easy to get a consistent, fingery (is that a word? SpellCheck says, "no") tone whether alternate-picking or using all down strokes. I suspect these picks will last longer using alternate picking. Because of the thumb sized depression on only one side, you can really only comfortably hold these picks one way; hardly a dealbreaker. These things could save a session even for a real bass player, if she got a blister or somewhat. The stiffness changes the feel more than the tone; I'd imagine some folks might have a preference for faster runs, but the soft ones have just a little more 'give'. They both sound great and are very controllable, but I might wish for a slightly larger size for even better grip. (the rubber provides very positive control and is way less slippery than any other pick I've used that doesn't have sand embedded in it) I may have to try a soft thin one to see if it has even more articulation, but the upshot is, these picks are a winner for any converted guitarist, or for a pickstyle bassist who wants more tonal options. Definitely a big (and non-sore) thumbs up.

An excellent felt pick alternative!
Very nice, and exactly what I was looking for. I play electric bass with both fingers and flatpick, and had tried felt picks and some of the alternatives for some variety. Most of the other felt alternatives I had tried were too flexy - combined with the pick thickness, this led to too much picking imprecision and a weak tone on bass strings. These Wedgie picks (in Hard grade) have excellent internal stiffness but still have a softer surface and attack. The shape is really nice too - a shaped grip area (concave on one side and with a little bump on the other), and the pick tapers down to about half thickness at the tip. It's an easy transition from a regular flatpick in precision with a nice change in tone toward fingers. They seem quite resistant to wear too - when I play in an ensemble with felt picks, I pick hard enough that disintegration is a problem.Give them a try for an alternative. You might consider getting the assortment of Wedgie gauges if your regular flatpick has any flex (I normally would play a Tortex purple).

I've also tried the felt ukulele picks and didn't really like those all that much after awhile
I'm approaching this review strictly from an Ukulele-perspective: I bought a pack of each of the Wedgie rubber picks - Hard, Medium and Soft - to try on the ukulele. I'll copy/paste this review to all three of the products. I have no finger nails (bad habit of mine), so I always have a hard time getting any volume out of my ukes. I mostly play with my thumbs/ on a more quiet approach. But I thought, to get more volume, let's try these out.I've also tried the felt ukulele picks and didn't really like those all that much after awhile. The texture was too weird for me. I've tried plastic guitar picks too, and those are OK, but a little too harsh on ukulele strings.I think these are great for the best tone on a ukulele. I think the Hards are too hard though for most ukulele's. The Hard's may work for baritones or electric's/solid bodies. The Hard's are about twice as thick as the Medium and Soft. The Medium and Soft are essentially the same thickness; the only difference is the tension in them. I find that the Medium is the best though because of that extra little resistance. The Soft sometimes can drag on the strings/snag on the strings a little bit. Thus I think Medium are the best for the ukulele (5-star), Soft next best (4-star), and Hard least-best (3.5 but rounding up since I like the product overall).

Fantastic picks!
I've bought all three varieties of these rubber picks for ukulele-playing (the softs were originally for guitar, but I prefer fingers to picks for guitars), and this one is my favorite. Though it turns in my fingers more than the medium - the medium is less slippery in my fingers, it makes for a brighter sound. You can hear the pick striking the strings a bit but it's not as bad as with the felt picks I have. The string-strike sound is less the softer the pick - I didn't notice it with the soft picks, but the uke chord sounds were a bit muddied. The hard pick is a bit thicker than the medium, and luckily each different type is a different gray so I can have an assortment in one package and be able to tell the difference. I do wish more came in a package, but the small packets are great for re-using in the case.

Total Garbage
In less than one hour of practice, the pick shredded all over my $2200 bass guitar. I had to completely disassemble it and perform a thorough cleaning that took about two hours. The dust this pick produced was incredible. I spent $10 on three picks and that money was flushed. Don't waste your time, money, and dirtying a valuable instrument.

Finally someone has invented the perfect ' guitar pick !!!!
My picks arrived within a few short days. I LOVE ❤ them!!! I am never comfortable using conventional picks because I don't like to hear the pick sound on the strings. Also picks always feel uncomfortable and slip out of my hands a lot. These picks are soft and comfortable and fun to hold and they play precise crisp notes. Also I was very surprised to receive 3 beautiful picks because I expected one pick for the price. I ordered both soft and hard 5.0mm and they both play beautifully. I'm so happy with my purchase !! ( update !! I've been using my picks for a few weeks now and I still ❤ them!! They actually have enhanced my performance skills !! )
