taller more ridged frame with 12" wheels is perfect for my large 1216 makita saw
Outstanding workstand! The wider, taller more ridged frame with 12" wheels is perfect for my large 1216 makita saw.Don't settle for any thing less. I've been a contractor for 43 years and have used several stands over that time, this isthe new benchmark for any others in the future to beat if they can.

Beware when opening! (bought from Amazon)
Not a review yet, just a warning. Just received this stand, have not used it yet. Bought from Amazon. The unit was clearly a repackaged demo of some kind, as a few critical bolts and washers were missing, the tape anti-skid patch on the foot bar was peeled back and scratched where it inserts into the unit. The design is a scissor folding leg which is sprung to assist in opening to lift the table. Unfortunately the person who repacked the unit did not latch it closed, must have sat on the box while taping the top. As soon as I cut the tape the box sprung open like a jack in the box. I had noticed the box appeared to be bulging, which must have subconsciously given me the suggestion to keep my face back. The spring is designed to lift the table with a 60 pound saw on it, so the the table came up quickly, and I was fortunate to not get hit.I have assembled the table minus the missing screws, at first glance looks solid enough. I will now navigate the sure to be long process of replacing a few of the parts, there is no obvious way to do that with Amazon. The saw (10 inch compound miter from Makita) is coming in a day or two, will review the actual equipment once I have had a chance to actually use it.This is not a reflection on Makita, as it was clear the box had been repacked. It is a reflection on Amazon, and I will definitely not be buying any more power tools from them.

Poor Quality
I have been a contractor for 30 years and most of my tools are Makita. I bought this stand for my 12" sliding compound miter saw and I was saddened by the poor quality of the unit. Good design, I like the idea, but the bolts and handles are all poorly machined and every moving part sticks. The stand does not set up smoothly. Originally Makita tools were made in Japan and were of very good quality. I still have drills and power planes and saws that are over 20 years old and work fine. This unit is made in China and is of very poor quality and does not live up to the Makita name.

Like so many other buyers
Like so many other buyers, my stand arrived in a box that went through a war. What's up with so many package issues anyway? I also had a missing bolt and the instructions are only good for starting a very small fire, worthless instruction manual!!! I also had wear issues with the paint and mares on the steel handles. I haven't put it together yet because I was looking online for better instructions so I can't review the performance of it. Although it does feel solid....time will tell. I am disappointed by all these issues especially in light of the fact I am a Makita fan and I have other very solid products including: a LS1101 I have had for 13 years and it runs like a champ. Don't know if this model will fit the pre-drilled mounting holes yet. I'll update when I get to that stage. UPDATE: My old Makita Miter saw (LS1101) didn't match up with the mounting holes, so I utilized one pre-drilled hole and drilled a new hole for the opposite side. I used the bolt that came with it and put a locking nut underneath and it works great. After assembly (which took 30-45 minutes figuring it out as I went and looking at pictures), I played around with it and I like the stand very much. Besides the esthetic condition and horrible instructions I believe I will enjoy this new addition to my tools and job site activities.

Relieved and Very Satisfied
I set the Makita LS1016LX 10-Inch Dual Slide Compound Miter Saw with Laser and Stand combo up on my wish list based on 3rd party review I read. After being notified that I was getting them both, I happened to read the reviews on the Makita stand posted here that indicated issues with completeness and with quality. That made me nervous and particulary apprehensive when I too received my delivery with the box being tattered, torn and audibly containing loose parts. The good news is that everything was in good shape and all necessary parts werre present (though some bolts and washers were not in the sealed bag where they should have been and instead were scattered like loose change in the box). In any event, setup of the saw and stand was simple, and the saw is perfectly dialed in out of the box. The stand is substantial, and provides me any adjustment and support I envision needing. I'm thrilled with the combination.

Just Right For The Job!
I got this item for my father, which I have been trying to build up a repertoire of his favorit brand(makita), who is just delighted with this item! Besides a few dings and a piece that was bent from shipping, the unit was perfect! Quite a change from Makitas older and even more difficult unit to operate. This one is honestly a breeze. 9 out of 10, a few things could change but thats my opinion. But its deffinetly something to take a look at!Makita 195083-4 Job Site Miter Saw Stand

Warning: Bad packaging, poor welds, missing parts: listen to your amazon peers (I didn't).
I read other people's ratings (the good and mostly the bad) before purchasing this item. Unfortunately I didn't listen to other peoples advice.... The packaging for this stand is horrible, all small parts are placed in a small plastic bag that gets to free-range around inside until you receive it. Some of the small parts escaped and were lost, others logged themselves inside the box tubing of the main frame. Trying to shake the 90 pound stand to get the small parts out proved challenging. Two of the box tubing end caps were missing. Some of the tubing was dented and paint chipped (also able to free-range). Luckily Amazon has an easy return policy, and back it went. Hopefully the WST05 will be an improvement to this particular stand. It seems like Makita had good ideas when they started designing this stand; but it fell flat skimping to make things cheap. Good luck.

Not a great design.
Two orders of bent metal. Disappointing in the quality and usability. Not a great design.
