Tool made installation of 2000 Honda Civic, trunk lid torsion bar springs easy and safe. Tool made by Honda. Simple design. Torsion bar springs installation would be difficult (and unsafe) without this tool. Cost was $40, kinda expensive for one time use, but I installed both torsion bar springs in about 2 min. I cannot imagine struggling with an improvised tool. This tool might also be used on other Honda cars with torsion bar trunk lid springs. Well worth $40. Purchased springs from CheaperHondaParts.com as Amazon did not stock items.

It requires a lot of tension to get these rods in place. I have seen videos where people use random tools and vice grips but there is no substitute for this tool. Yes, if you are a non mechanic you will probably never use it again but without this it, installation is sketchy.

A must have tool for replacing the torsion springs for your Honda trunk. It's a tad bit expensive but cheaper than having to go to the dealer. You could do the job with some vise grips but it's a scary proposition since your dealing with a lot of torsion force. Fast, simple and safe with this tool.

I used this to install the trunk springs on my 2006 Honda Accord. I was skeptical about buying it but I'm sure glad I did. As others have stated this makes installing very easy!
