Needed this for a security camera that was going to put into a recessed light socket that was too deep. Wish could just buy one instead of four. For my purpose, I think I should have bought a slightly longer one. There were some non-porcelain versions, but I felt that the higher heat ratings (also UL rated) for this product make it safer to use since the camera will be on 24/7.

My lights were seated deep in the recessed wells and the rooms were relatively dim. My objective was to increase the brightness.I tried 2" extendors but they poked out of the ceiling light frame quite a bit. The 1" fits my lights just right.Additionally, it's porcelain, UL listed and hopefully safer.The extendors were received well packaged. Nonetheless, 1 of 10 was broken and will be returned for replacement.The bulbs definitely throw more light into the rooms. In fact, there is now a good case for actually using the dimmer switches.I'm pleased to have made the effort and gratified by the outcome.

The screw base should be adhered to the porcelain and not rely on the assembly rivets. Or increase the gauge of the metal material.

These porcelain light socket extenders are very high quality and work perfectly. Will be ordering more as needed.

I needed a bunch of these and bought two different brands, this being one of them. These are much better. Porcelain is smooth and so are the all important metal components. The others are so rough the bulbs to not want to thread . These are way better. As they say... cheap is cheap. Buy these and you won’t be disappointed

Worked great but I should have bought another .5-1" longer. Fixed my crappy recessed ceiling lighting in my apartment. Lights are twice as bright and only att 1.5"...

This worked for a simple on off bulb. It did not work for a three way. (Both bulbs were LED). In one fixture it was so high it hit the glass bowl in the center of the fixture. Found some LED lights are not as fat at the base as others so these bulbs worked ok without an extender.

I am using the light sockets for 250 watt heat lamps. No issues with heat, the porcelain sockets can handle it with ease. Excellent quality, very happy with my purchase.

The sockets are good made. It could be the only defect one on Amazon. It still can be used.
