Dogrook Humane No Shock Rechargable Beep & Vibration Bark Collar for Dogs

I don't write reviews...ever! But as I was on my walk in the park with my incredibly barky, loud, squeaky dachshund mix this morning I couldn't wait to get home and write this one. He's a weiner and he's a puppy...and he makes noise literally ALL of the time. He's been driving me and my husband crazy since he came to live with us. Don't get me wrong, we love the little monster...but we really had no idea just how much weiners bark. So in comes the bark collar out of desperation. We really didn't want to do it, even though they call it humane it just seemed like we would be dampening his spirit. Well let me tell you...his spirit has not been dampened one bit but his bark sure has! I put this on for the first time just this morning...he barked twice, got "vibrated"...and this has now been the quietest day we've had in almost three months! And he doesn't seem to mind which is the best part. This thing is worth the money twice over, it works great. I can't really say anything about the battery life...I've only been using it for 7 hours...but I hear it works for a couple of weeks. Doesn't matter, we plan to take it off when he goes to bed at night and put it back on in the morning. It seems like a safe item, not like a shock collar at all. The vibration doesn't even seem to bother him...he acts like we strapped a toy to his neck and he's trying to figure out why! It was simple to use, just plug it in for a couple of hours, do the easy test they gave instructions for and put it on. It's amazing that he's learned the point of it all in only a few hours. Bless whomever made this thing. Oh yeah...and sizing it to your dog is simple, just measure it when it's on and cut off the excess you don't need. Easy peasy! I recommend this to anyone who is struggling with the noise...join the quiet club...you'll thank me for this review if you do. Have a blessed, quiet day.

I was very reluctant to even get a bark collar for our dog, but have been very happy with this purchase. First, it is not a shock collar - it just beeps and vibrates. The reason we purchased this collar is our dog can see the neighbor's dogs out the window when they are in their back yard. She would completely lose her marbles, so breaking her focus was a challenge. What I like about this collar is it allows her to bark once or twice before it is activated. Then it beeps before it vibrates, so it gives her time to react and stop barking. Honestly we only used this collar for a week and the 'lose your marbles' barking has stopped. She doesn't even wear it anymore. She still barks, but not nearly as much and then she only barks once or twice. When she did have the collar on and we were able to get her focus, we told her 'place' and she was able to follow the command. It's been a miracle!!! Just as a side note - we use frosted window clings on our front windows, so she doesn't see dogs passing on the sidewalk. I definitely recommend those! The window clings have been a huge life saver. We just didn't want to have window clings all over the house - having natural daylight is good too! Good luck!

Putting it together was easy enough. It comes with two batteries. They fit in the front of the unit under the faceplate. The faceplate is holding the collar connection on. It snaps right off. I ordered black but they came with the pink faceplates as well. The instructions are clear. The entire package is a tiny box. The collar is a simple nylon strap. If you need to trim it down, use a lighter on the edge of the cut to melt it back down so that it does not fray. Putting the collar on is easy. Remember that you want it up around the jaw not dangling down the neck. Why? I live in the suburbs I have several dogs. One is a barker. He is not left to his own devices outside but he will just woof away as he is going to the bathroom. It is all warning and alert barks because suburbia is busy and full of sounds of people. However, it has grown obnoxious. He also barks nonstop when playing with other dogs. The other two just join in at howling at dawn with him. Add in neighbors that hold parties every weekend till 4 am and the barking had started to escalate to a problem for suburban life. So far so good with these collars. He is confused by them but not upset. The warning goes off and it has escalated to vibration rarely. He mostly stopped making noise and has discovered he can continue to do the same things without vocalizing nonstop. I won't give it five stars until I find out the long term quality of the unit and functionality.

We got this so that we could open our ground floor patio doors during the hot weather which face on to the street without our dog barking a greeting to every passing dog, or uber eats delivery person. We just wanted to stop the sudden loud barking when a dog walks past. We didn't want to stop the low volume barks, grumbles, play howls etc which don't bother us and we particularly love hearing her happy play howl. So collar sensitivity was important to us so that it could differentiate between wanted and unwanted barking. When this first arrived it worked like a charm. We put it on our 15lb doodle on a low sensitivity setting so that it would only alert for loud barks, it worked great and our dog learnt within a couple of barks to not bark loud but she knew she could still do soft barks and other noises. She suffered no ill effects from the noise and never needed to get to the vibration stage, when the high pitched noise went off she instantly stopped barking and looked around confused for the source of the noise. Sadly after only 2 weeks the collar stopped working consistently. Gradually we had to keep increasing the sensitivity of the collar as it failed to pick up on her loud barking, we tightened it so that it was a more snug fit in case it had somehow loosened and we changed the batteries but neither appeared to make a difference. The sensitivity got worse and worse over time, we had to continually increase it until the collar stopped alerting altogether. In the last 2 weeks the collar has begun working intermittently, sometimes it alerts to a bark if its a super loud bark and it ignores the quieter barks. Sometimes it alerts and vibrates for even a quiet play howl or a low grumble - which we absolutely don't want an alert for. Overall this collar started well but is now effectively useless since its completely unpredictable and unreliable and doesn't allow us to control the sensitivity.

This does the job when my Great Dane is barking at mostly nothing outside. It beeps to warn her and then vibrates. As soon as she hears the beep, she immediately stops and comes to me. So I am happy with that. The reason I give it 3 stars is because there are some weird glitches that happen but are consistent. Any time she scratches her neck and bumps it, or we pet her near it, it goes off and scares her. When we remove it when she goes in the crate and at night time it goes off. It always goes off when my other 20 lb dog barks. So, all in all I am happy with it and will continue to use it but wish it worked 100%.

I run two big dogs 6 xs week. One is a beast. Goes after everything that moves. The crazy full on bark and pull at 77 pounds with muscle is brutal. This collar saved my shoulders , sanity , and other people / dogs from his alpha male bark fest !! I put it on myself to try it ( just vibrates after first beep- you can set the strength 1-5 , I use a 4 ) I have also bought his owners one to use if they have guests over... Keeps him calm , in check and so safe and no shock. Just enough vibration to alert him to calm down !! Love it !! I also referred this to my neighbor for her lab that’s a barker they use it now when they walk him and love it. Then take it off when home. I have an extra one I always keep in my car if one is not charged for backup. True story-- I was at a pet store recently and a younger woman just adopted a dog. He was going crazy in the store and outside as well. She bought a muzzle. I asked her to try something and ran to my car to grab my bark collar (very easy to adjust the size) She could not believe it worked after 4-5 barks the dog stopped, the owner was in tears of joy. The pet store we were at did not sell them only remote costly ones , and she could not afford a lot. I told her she can have it, and I ordered another that came in 2 days (love Amazon) !! So there you go..... and hey if it does not work for you you can return it!! Just saying it does help and makes a difference ( the dog I use it on is set in his ways 7 years old and acts like he is 2 -- as I said it WORKS!!

I got this for my boy about 4 years ago when his separation anxiety caused him to bark continuously while I was at work. It worked great, and I was finely able to develop some better habits for him. Unfortunately, after 4 years of use, it wouldn’t stay charged as long and turn off only after a couple of hours after being fully charged. For reference, he is not alone for longer than 4-5 hours at a time, ever. It’s a bummer to say that this newer version does not seem to make a bit of difference. He has gone back to barking, even while wearing it. I notice the beeping is now after the vibration and not nearly as high pitched or loud as my older one. Not that it was loud, but it is noticeably quieter. The vibration doesn’t seem to even phase him. For my boy specifically, it was the higher pitched and louder beeping that corrected him, and because of this, I’m disappointedly going to try to return it, and need to look for another one. Finally! So happy!!! This product really works! I was desperate to find a way to stop my dogs from barking. I have 3 basset hounds and they each have a loud and hearty bark and it’s pretty much non-stop whenever anyone goes by (and someone always goes by). It’s become such a nuisance that I would cringe every time the dogs would have to go out. We tried an anti barking box/device that didn’t really do a thing. I didn’t want anything that could harm my dogs (no shock) and was reluctant to spend $ on three collars without knowing they would help. I searched other products, but was concerned if it would help for larger breeds. I read the reviews for DogRook and saw videos, so I bought one collar first to test on our female, she’s the biggest barker. My son and I tested it on ourselves first and it does not hurt at all. I was so pleasantly surprised that it worked for our girl and she doesn’t get bothered when I put the collar on her. I ordered 2 more the next day for our males (which got 10% off for buying 2) They are not used to wearing a collar, so I had a little difficulty, but once it’s on, they’re fine and it was also quite impressive to see this product work. What a relief! So far it’s been great! I hope that it continues. Good price and so worth the $ x3! So thank you for an amazing product that can now give some peace of mind (and quiet) to our nutty household!

While my dogs has a very loud and sharp bark, it seems that this collar is the most humane method of modifying a dog’s bark. With the rechargeable battery there is little need for the dog not to be wearing it. While my dog does still bark some while wearing it, it is still an improvement. It also has several levels of getting the dogs attention (by vibration) and gets progressively stronger as the barking continues, and then resets itself to the lower levels after a period of time after the barking has stopped.

Good quality and works well. Doesn’t hurt my dog and has helped control her barking.

I wasn't sure if this would work. I have a springer spaniel who hates to be left alone and cries and barks as soon as I leave the house, annoying the neighbours. This collar works great, with the vibrations confusing him. No more barking or crying when he's alone for short periods. Very impressed

I have a 11 year old long haired German shepherd. We recently moved and our new residence received a lot of foot traffic walking past where she would bark at everyone. After putting this collar on for one day her barking has reduced dramatically. She will bark once then hear the beeping and not bark again. Incredible how quickly it worked for an older dog who has had the same habit forever. Highly recommend.
