Great book with beautiful illustrations to help kids learn about emotions and self-regulation. I love that thereโs a color at the end that the littles get to choose an emotion to go with it.

Great book to help toddlers understand and talk about feelings
I want to gift this book for every toddler mom out there. My little guy has a lot of big feelings, and he seemed to be having trouble understanding what he was feeling and how to manage them (like EVERY toddler). He had also started hitting when he was feeling mad. This book has helped a ton. Itโs given him a framework to start understanding his feelings and be able to label some of them. The book gave him some words to try using to start talking about them. Best of all, the story is really light and playful; because itโs not heavy-handed, it provided a soft way to open the door to conversations about his feelings without shame or judgement. Also, the illustrations are really cool! Buy this book.

Board Book Isnโt Full Story
I read this book to my preschoolers every year and they love it! I ordered the board book to have something a little more durable. Unfortunately, it is not the entire story, so that is the only reason I marked it 4 stars. I wish that had been said in the description somewhere. It has the emotions but none of the strategies. It is great for little kids to teach basic emotions. I ended up ordering the full hard cover version for teaching, but my 1 year old loves the board book so we are keeping that too!

My little one loves it!
I bought this for my great niece who has some developmental delays and was not able to verbalize her emotions, which triggered meltdowns at times. This does seem to have helped!

Wonderful Book for Understanding Emotions!
The Color Monster has been incredibly helpful for our little guy, who experiences strong emotions. The story does a fantastic job of breaking down complex feelings into simple, relatable concepts, with each emotion represented by a color. Itโs a great way to help kids understand and express how theyโre feeling. The illustrations are beautiful and engaging, and the colors really capture the mood of each emotion, making it easy for kids to connect with the story. Itโs also sparked some meaningful conversations in our home about emotions and how to manage them. This book is a must-have for any parent looking to help their child navigate big feelings in a fun and gentle way. Highly recommend it for young kids, especially those with strong emotions or who are still learning to express themselves!

Highly recommended! Children with big emotions
Adhd suspected in my 4 year old. He has big emotional rollercoasters. But reading the book everyday, watching someone read it on youtube too has made a considerable change in his behavior not only at home but at kindergarten. Even my 2 year old loves it and it helps her too!!
