iTouchless 13 Gallon Automatic Trash Can with 10 Trash Bags, Stainless Steel, Big Lid Opening Touchless Sensor Kitchen Garbage Bin

5 STARS for two weeks: Works exactly as described. Followed the instructions, installed the batteries, REMOVED THE CLEAR PLASTIC PROTECTIVE COVER ON THE SENSOR EYE, and the lid opens & closes just as promised. Entire unit has a clean profile, holds a full 13 gallons, comes with 10 free trash bags and an inside lid-mounted carbon odor filter. No internal screw/bolt heads to snag the trash bag when removing the bag-a REAL problem with the last trash can we had. We're very happy with the unit and the price charged.ONE STAR. Two weeks later: Unit failed utterly. Green light stays on. The unit will not open or close. Now we have to fight to make things right.BACK TO 5 STARS: We contacted Amazon who promptly sent a replacement and a UPS return label for the defective unit. As we observed the replacement unit function, it was obvious the first unit had a hyperactive circuit board. All seems good.As an aside, when we delivered the unit to UPS for return, the UPS guy asked what was in the box. When we told him what it was, he replied that his family had one but had to leave the unit shut off. Why? His dogs figured out how to open the garbage can by placing their muzzle over the sensor thereby opening the garbage can and snorking the contents.

We’ve purchased two of these. They work really great – until they don’t. We bought the first one in 2017, it worked for 25 months, and then the lid wouldn’t open anymore. It just made a clicking noise like the gears were stripped. I took it apart and put it back together again based on a YouTube “how to” fix automatic garbage can lids” video – but no luck. The gears were just stripped - and the lid wouldn’t open.We looked online and found the same garbage can - but now this new 2019 model had wheels. That my wife really wanted. So the old one with the unusable lid got relegated to my office, and instead of just buying a replacement part - we bought an entire brand new one!Here we are, 13 months later, 2020, different garbage can - same story. Nothing but click, click, click. Changed the batteries, spayed some WD-40, made sure there is no food stuck in a gear - nothing fixes it.So I either need to buy a third new can (and my wife’s office gets the old one that doesn’t work this time), or I buy a new lid with a motor in it to fix the second dead one. Or, say “strike two - you’re out” – and go in another direction with a different manufacturer. Even though they were highly rated when I bought the first one… and the second one….I’m leaning towards the third choice. Because the amount of time they last is getting shorter and shorter. If this keeps up, the third one will be dead in six months. And then the fourth one that I’m inevitably going to have to buy after that will probably only last three months!So the idea is really good, but the actual tool ITouchless makes that implements the idea - not so much…

Customer service is terrible! There is a phone number in each trash can for us to call if there are issues but nobody answers the phone. They allow you to leave a voicemail message yet noone returns any of your calls. Voicemail message directs you to contact them online via email. After sending multiple emails, nobody responds to those either. Due to their non-response, I missed my window to return product.The plastic base these castor wheels are attached to on the bottom of these trash cans is very weak and flimsy. I slide my trash can a couple of feet when I am preparing meals to put trash in and they are on a smooth tile surface.. the castor wheel sunk into the base and no longer works. I've only had this about a month and a half and for almost a $100, would expect it to last a lot longer than this. The motion sensors don't work very well either. You have to hold your hand over it for several seconds to get it to open.. or physically push the open button. I bought 2 of these and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

This product did not last me very long, it worked up to about a year, the exact time for the warranty, how convenient, the product never received any neglect or mistreatment we have no children in the home so the lid and can where used as directed foe use of trash, that's all the sensor was working fine until one day it just did not go up any more, upon removing two screws on the lid I removed the gear cover and noticed a busted piece of plastic fell out I do not recommend this product it only lasted a year, for $69.99 it is not worth all that money!! (STAY AWAY)

Just got my Stainless basket today and set it up. Super great packaging, it was basically in a foam cover and then slid into a rugged Corrugated Cardboard box. The setup was a breeze, I like the wheels for mobility and it just looks nicer than just sitting on the floor. It has two wheel locks on it as well so you can lock it into place. I can't tell how long the batteries would last at this point in time. It functions perfectly as well, opens right up and stays open for a good 5 to 8 seconds and then shuts. The design is great also, sleek and modern yet it can go in any home. My home kitchen is Industrial Farmhouse and it fits in perfectly. A++++ !!!!!

Dislike the dent that came with this very expensive trash can. These photos were taken immediately after removing it from the two boxes. There was an outer box then the product box inside. Zoom in to clearly see the dent in the first photo. The second photo shows how out of shape the top of can is. I can't put bags in as instructions say due to this damage. I struggle to get the lid on since it doesn't line up properly. Being disabled, I have no way to return this item but am not pleased. Not worth the money to get something this noticeably damaged. I would be thrilled if I could hide the bags the way I should be able to when they are installed. The lid works perfectly after my battle to get it to fit onto the bottom part of the messed up can.

Poor reaction time for sensor. Too late for me to return it now. The garage can itself is decent. So if you don't mind standing over the thing trying to find the sensor for a good 2 minutes then it's perfect for you! Tend to use the manual open and close buttons more than not. Defeating the purpose of this item. 🙄

Horible unit and dont expect to get a call back from customer service. They never bothered to contact me when i had problems.

Mine didn't last. It stopped opening in exactly one year, when the warranty expired (It was delivered on June 2 , 2020 and broke on June 5, 2021). In my opinion, It doesn't worth $90 for using only 1 year. Stay away.
