CamelBak Kids Eddy Water Bottle, 0.4 L, Sharks

After seeing all the reviews about mold on EVERY brand of kid's water bottle, I just had to come review this so I could say my piece. First, we had children's CamelBak bottles for 3 years now and they are great water bottles. For an inexpensive price I bought a package of replacement bite valves because my kids will chew on the valves and eventually they leak. This is normal wear and tear people. Second, any object that is subjected to bacteria is going to eventually grow something. It's not poison people. Just clean the darn thing. Get one of those little bottle brushes and really examine the bottle parts and make sure it's clean. If need be, dunk it briefly in a mixture of water and bleach and let it air dry. CamelBaks are great bc they really don't have a ton of parts so if you are of moderate intelligence you should be able to clean it. I know the big thing is to be scared of BLACK MOLD but it's often just the color of stuff growing.. You will find this happens on bath toys, those bulb nose snot suckers and anything that doesn't dry off between use. My experience with this water bottle is: It's durable! Kids fling it, drop it, drag it everywhere, chew on it, what have you and they don't break. It holds a nice amount of liquid. It's a great size at 4l (someone wrote that that is 14 oz). Many cups for kids are 10oz and that's just too small. It's cute and there are many designs to choose from. It's pretty leak proof. Sometimes through wear and tear on the bite valve or user error putting it back together, it has leaked a bit. But overall this thing is very leakproof.

I have one of these for each of my kids! They have them throughout the day filled with water so they can stay hydrated. I love that I don’t have to worry about cups getting knocked over or anything like that as these don’t leak. Sometimes when they haven’t been used in a bit some water will spray out of the top when opened. My one year old will sometimes chuck his on the ground making the straw come out and therefore it leaks but it’s just water and doesn’t happen a lot. I love that I can take it apart easily though for cleaning. They have super cute designs though and you can also purchase new drinking pieces if you need to.

We have about 8 of these (2 adult versions) for our family of 5 that we’ve purchased and repurchased over the past few years. I love how easy they are for young kids to use, as my children were around 2, 4 and 6 when we started using them. In having 3 kids, my oldest now 9, we’ve gone through countless water bottles and soppy cups. These are hands down my favorite for long term use. The designs are cute and there are so many to choose from. They’re incredibly easy to clean and to keep clean. They are also leak proof despite some other reviews... I have found that if you have a ‘chewer,’ like my son, it will cause the valve to leak because it can become dislodged. Just pull on the spout and it will be snug and leaf free again. Kids who chew straws can also chew holes in the valve, causing it to leak, but these can be replaced. That has to be one of my favorite features is the easily replaceable parts. You don’t have to track down item numbers, just find the color you want and replace. We will continue purchasing these for as long as they’re available! Great product, camelbak!

My 3 year old loves this water bottle. Quality is great and print is cute. Only reason for 4 stars is because occasionally the straw detaches inside the bottle which is difficult for young kids to fix. It's a bit annoying.

Good water bottle. My 18 month old has no problems using this. However, he can easily disengage the bite valve and water will spill out. I’ve also noticed the inner straw detaches rather frequently as well. When properly assembled, this doesn’t leak/spill but it’s not quite kid proof. Appreciate that all parts can be removed for cleaning.
