Samsung HM1200 Bluetooth Headset - Black

I wanted an inexpensive headset to use for Skype phone calls. This was one of the least expensive I found on Amazon that was Prime eligible, which implies a full refund if it fails within 30 days, and has a name brand I recognized, like LG, Motorola, Plantronics, and others.Unlike other Samsung headsets, this is an OEM version. Which means no box, charger, or manual. But since I'm pretty good with computers and have four mini-USB chargers, this wasn't a limitation for me.One thing I like about this headset is it has a sliding power switch. Move the switch to turn the headset on, move it back to turn it off. Which is more convenient than having to hold down a button to turn the headset on and off.Another thing I like is the styling. The headset is sleek with an alternating matte, shiny, and textured surfaces. It's small, but not too small. And the case has a slight taper from back to front. It's a nice looking, unobtrusive headset.Next, the charger port has a plastic dust cover. So the mini-USB socket is covered when the headset is in use. This is a nice touch that is both aesthetic and functional.And the headset, although it does not come with a charger, comes with two ear hooks and two strap adapters. Use one set and store the other for safe keeping.Finally, the headset can be used while it's charging. Plugging in the charger does not disconnect the headset from the Bluetooth radio.Now I mention all of this because my LG HBM-210, doesn't have any of these features. And it costs about 80-100% more. But it did include a box, charger, and manual!Five stars because this is a well made yet inexpensive Bluetooth headset. If you don't need a charger, go for it!

This little blue tooth is ok.. works really clear if there is no back ground noise.. but if you are someplace that has a lot of noise around you, it actually works against itself.. It is supposed to have sound dampening.. but if it is a mono roar, like water running or rain.. it destroys the call quality.. It isn't bad priced, and very easy to set up.. this is the only downfall.. I had a wep 490 bt from them, and that was the best one I have ever owned.. But the company discontinued that line..

I like this headset, except that the ear piece breaks easily. Should be kept in a small containers where it won't be jostled around in a drawer or purse. I've had a headset last for a couple of years other than the ear piece.

It was decent but it hurts my ear after a bit. It does stick out a bit as well but works.

This is a nice Bluetooth, with great sound quality. It does pickup a lot of background noise though. Easy to operate and connect. But the most important feature of a headset is how it fits on your head and Samsung just don't get that. The ear hook is a cheap piece of plastic that requires it to bend to put it on, which will slowly but surely break. My ear hook broke after about 1 month's use. I didn't even receive any backup or extra hook so I'm stuck with a piece of crap.

This little device is amazing for the price. Ive had it for 2 weeks now and have had no problems whats so ever. I make about 15 calls a day on it and it lasts a week before needing recharged. The ear loop is a bit uncomfortable, but I removed it and the interchangeable ear bud actually sits in my ear and holds the unit fine without the loop. Would highly recommend!

I bought this device becuase the add stated that it could be pired with two devices simoultaneously, sadly I belived that. Whenever I try to pair with my two phones only one is able to connect the second I connect the second one iy disconnects the first or simply won't connect the second.On the plus side very light device, connects with great ease and to reconnect all you have to do is tap the call button on the earpiece and you're done.

The Samsung HM1200 is a cheap bluetooth device and it's ok if you can get it to stay in your ear. The plastic holder didn't fit so I couldn't use it. Also, it doesn't come with a charger, so I had to buy a micro-usb charger.

I bought this a month ago for work, so I could type while I talked. I was using a wired earphone with microphone, but it was cumbersome and kept getting caught in my clothing. Wireless is definitely the way forward!The ear hook looked a bit flimsy to me and, being rather clumsy, I was concerned I'd break it (there is a replacement in the package), but I needn't have worried, as this tiny piece of plastic is sturdier than it looks. The headset came set up for the right ear, but I'm left ear dominant, so I had to change the hook around and it withstood my manhandling without breaking. Unless you are deliberately destructive the ear hook is up to the job.The headset itself is very small (5cm long), but it has good sound quality and I've had no complaints from callers that they can't hear me, and I can hear everyone very well. It's easy to answer calls with one touch of the button that runs almost half the length of the headset, although I haven't had to deal with more than one call at a time, so the other functions may be more tricky (mute, call waiting, etc.)One small complaint is that the headset doesn't come with a charger, which surprised me. However the charger for my Samsung phone fits the port in the headset, so that shouldn't be a problem for Samsung users.Overall I'm very happy with this product and see no reason to buy a more expensive item.

Regardless of previous reviews I had read before buying this, I thought £9.90 with free P&P or 3 points and a fine... no brainer for me!I've not used one of these for a longtime and due to getting more and more calls in the car I decided to buy a 'no frills' headset. This is perfect for everyday day to day use, nice little design as well. Its really light in the ear and easily forgettable that it's there.The sound quality for the price is excellent in my opinion, maybe everyone else reviewing this has a convertible?? :) I can hear people on the other end perfectly well and clear and they can also hear me.The device pairs without any issues and within seconds.Only little issue I have is that it is a little fiddly getting the charger cover open at times.But for under a tenner, I think its brilliant and would highly recommend anyone this who doesn't require it for their profession.

I didn't really expect much from this at the price I paid for it, but to be honest, unless you have the acute hearing of an arctic fox and are lucky enough that the call you are receiving is from an ogre with a bellowing voice, then don't hold out too much hope for a decent conversation whilst using this headset.The volume is so quiet that unless you are making your call from an acoustically insulated,sensory deprivated dark room enhancing all your senses to superhuman heights that you'll only make out 20% of any communication. And that's only if you really concentrate hard.

Not only this is an excellent device but I am happy with the fact that it has a Micro USB port for charging it (same as Blackberry and other smartphones that are not made by Apple) so no need to carry extra chargers for this, the charge lasts for a long time and it is easy to set up. It has an on and off button that simply slides up (for On) and down (for Off), also a a pair of volume buttons and finally a Samsung sync button that can be used to sync with devices, answer calls and hang up.So I recommend this to all who drive and need an easy wireless handsfree device.

Genuine retail packaged samsung product. Not sure that would be the case if you bought from the marketplace so stick to amazon. It's a great headset. Fits me well and securely, has great range and volume and has a physical on off switch, none of this long press stuff. Also takes micro sd charger which is awesome. Great battery life so far, only charged it once. All the things I look for in a headset, no separate charger (micro usb), long range and fits really well. Good effort and for a great price.
