Great product , big fun for kids
This is the 3rd one I have bought, it was to replace the identical one I bought in Dec 2005 that just got rode to death. My daughter keeps 2 of these at all times because her friends come over and ride the neighborhood. I bet the one that finally died had 1,000 miles on it over a 8 year period. I had to replace the battery once during the 8 years , but these things last and last. I have kept them in my garage, always charged them after use, and never had a problem. Riders from 4' tall up to 6' tall have rode them. I even used it to get home from the auto repair shop when dropping off my car for service,3 miles from my house. The tires last forever, the electronics last, cant say enough good about it. The only thing that I had to replace rather soon is the handle bar grips, found some at a motorcycle shop that did the trick, cant remember exactly why I replaced them though. Bottom line is , straight out of the box it works and provides years of enjoyment for my daughter and her friends. CONS: Don't expect brakes to grab like a bicycles , its more of a very quick slow down instead of a snappy stop. Lots of up hill with heavy 180+ riders will run battery down pretty quick, but level ground will travel miles and miles. Charger lasted a few years but was replaced with generic one off internet fairly cheaply. All in all a good value and a well built product for today's standards.

More than disappointed
Unfortunately, after weeks of looking at electric scooters of all prices and ranges of quality, I purchased this one. Although solidly-built, the battery never took a full charge. According to the gauge on the handlebar, the battery is always 50% full or less. The same goes for the light on the charger itself. Neither has ever been "green," and therefore the scooter has had a permanent weak battery from the start. This scooter is NOT intended for adults. And please note that in the product description it says it holds up to 180 lbs., while under "Product Features" it says 240 lbs. That is a big difference, especially when you are 185 lbs., like me. I tried this scooter on a 2-mile journey, 30% uphill, 30% downhill, 40% flat. I got to my destination with no problem. Then I charged the scooter for 3 hours, and began the trip home. I wound up walking this think uphill for much of the way because the battery died. I chose the eZip 500 as an alternative to one at the link below. I made the wrong choice. I think I will save my money for a few months and buy the one I currently can't afford. Here it is; I just read the reviews and they are pretty good:Super Turbo 800watt Elite 36v Electric Scooter "Neon Green" (Now includes Econo/Turbo mode button!)

Returned it because local law doesn't permit it without driving license
Bought it for my dad who goes to pick up my son after school. He doesn't have driving license. When we reviewed it online, there was no indication about local laws of operating such device. The user's manual mentioned something to check on the local law, so we did, and found out there are many restricitions on operating this kind of devices. So we had to return it. But other than that, it was easy to assemble and looked sturdy. It took my 10-year old son and my 80-year old dad half hour to put it together. Only trick they encountered was the charging part. The user's guide doesn't mention that the wire underneath the deck need to be connected before charging. So for a while we thought there was something wrong with the charger/battery.

Great scooter for the money
I bought this scooter to help get around my work area faster. I like it a lot -- battery life is pretty good, it is fast, and comfortable. One thing I wish Currie had done was made it out of a lighter material. It seems unnecessarily heavy! I have to lug it up 5 flights of stairs (damn New York City walk-ups!) and it is really not an easy thing to do. It would improve battery life as well if the thing didn't weigh so much.4/5 stars

bought 2 of these for my kids - age 8 and 11 - both broke down after 2 and 3 months and amazon didn't do anything about it
bought these and thought they were great - one broke after 2 months - the starter broke and once you started it it wouldn't turn off - so it became a dangerous hazard - i have no idea what to do with it - my daughter's broke and now we have both of these and having a hard time figuring out who to take it to for repairs - originally loved it - but just wish it was easier to have a warranty and to deal with getting them fixed - should not break down so fast and should be able to have them fixed within a decent time period for being such an expensive scooter
