X-Mini XAM8-R Portable Capsule Speaker v1.1, Mono, Red

I ordered this product on a whim as a small Christmas present for my significant other in addition to his main present. I purchased it mainly for the size and portability expecting the sound to be decent but nothing spectacular. I received the X-Mini in a cool little package that was quite fun to wrap and presented this gift on Christmas day. Through a bit of confusion on his Christmas list, he ended up receiving three different types of portable speakers including mine. He tested all of them out, each one being cooler than the next until he got to mine and we were blown away. We were VERY surprised at how this tiny little device could make such big sound. Long story short, he ended up choosing my speaker over the other two and has the biggest smile on his face every time he uses it.The sound is amazing, and I personally think it is the most adorable thing. There is a volume adjuster on the speaker itself in addition to the volume adjuster on the device you have it hooked up to which is pretty cool. The plug rolls up in a convenient space carved out for that specific purpose so instead of a bunch of wires to roll up and pack separately, the wire rolls up into that space and all you have left is the tiny speaker the size of your palm and nothing else. This device can be stored just about anywhere in a bag on the go or even a pocket if they are loose enough. The lid on the top of the device can be flipped down to muffle the sound coming out or flipped up for maximum volume. A lot of reviews mention the way the device bounces when the sound is really loud and I personally think this is absolutely adorable. It is no bother at all and if your music is that loud to begin with then you shouldn't be able to hear the bouncing anyway. It just bounces cutely along with the music and makes you smile.I would recommend this product for anyone who wants good sound and an extremely portable and convenient way of having it. In fact, I plan on buying another one in the near future for myself. This is definitely a great product and I am very happy with it. Would recommend to anyone who asked.

If you have a decent laptop with good sounding speakers, this little gem is not for you. If you expect the same quality of sound that you get from your Bose system at home, this product isn't for you, either. However, if like me, you have a cheap mp3 player or a tablet with speakers the size of nickel, this is an invaluable addition to your accessories.This little thing is amazing for its size. It isn't incredibly loud (enough to hear throughout a normal sized room, though), and the sound quality won't have you giving up your home theater system, but it works really well by delivering a richer sound in a pocket sized capsule. The reason I love the x-mini is because I hate the super tinny sound of tiny speakers. Although this still has a much weaker range than what I would want in a full sized sound system, the range is still larger than any other small, portable speaker I have found, and it is clear enough to be able to hear the individual instruments and subtlety in a voice. I did find that I had to fiddle with the equalizer to get the optimal sound (Rock preset with treble and bass adjusted down). Even then there are some ranges that cause the speaker to rattle.I used to own the first version of this speaker (until I accidentally left it recharging for a week and it died), and I believe the older version was louder than this one. For my needs, however, this one is perfectly adequate and half the price I paid for my first one. (Although, I am seriously considering buying a second one and trying the "buddy" jack system. That would give me all the volume I would ever need.)The truth is, my headphones sound better than this speaker, but there are sometimes you can't wear headphones. For those times, I keep this incredible little speaker in the console of my car, or put it in my pocket to take with me. I love it.

I am a relatively new user of all things 'i-'. I don't like my husband's i-Pad or i-Phone, but I love my i-Pod Nano! I decided I wanted to listen to my Audible books in the house instead of waiting until I had to drive somewhere (where it is normally hooked to my Bluetooth or whatever) and looked for speakers that would allow this without taking up lots of space or costing an arm and a leg. This was my second purchase (different brand and style than the first). I love it!This is a very compact device, but it has great sound for my use. I did briefly listen to whatever radio station came up when I was figuring out how it all went together and it sounded fine. I can't say how music or a game would sound on it if one were looking for a stereophonic or surround sound experience, but my books sound wonderful. The voices come through without sounding scratchy or tinny, and I can 'crank' the volume to hear it when I am standing across the room without noticing any distortion or diminishment of sound quality. My other speaker is a 2-speaker device that has magnets on the speaker bases so they cling together when transporting them and they are a larger, cone shape. I am not really comfortable with having magnets in my laptop case (how I transport my speaker), so I love that this is a single piece, and that it can be screwed down when I want to pack it, making it even more compact! And, for those who want to color coordinate, the red is every bit as vibrant as in the picture and matches my Nano perfectly. (Sounds silly, but there you go.) I was originally set to buy the Apple speakers, but couldn't get red on Amazon Prime at that time and Apple was going to charge extra for shipping, making them steeper than I wanted to pay. I am so glad I kept looking!My only complaint is that the instruction 'pamphlet' (if you could call it that) has such tiny font as to be unreadable even with reading glasses! Thankfully, this is a very simple speaker to figure out, but still...

Not the best in terms of sound quality, but the sound is louder than regular speakers attached to my electronics. (Just not by much.) The cord to connect the speaker to my laptop, iPad or phone is way too short. Would not buy this product again.

Great! Easy to use, compact, great sound quality & loud enough for getting ready in a hotel room or to listen to in the bath. Fab price & just a neat little piece of tech. My Mum found it easy to use & she’s very pleased with it.

Produit tout simplement bluffant, j'ai étonné tout mon entourage avec ce produit, le son est vraiment incroyable pour une si petite enceinte !Etant une grande fan de musique, je le trimbale partout ! Tout le temps dans mon sac quand je pars, sur ma table de nuit le soir, dans ma salle de bain lorsque je prends ma douche, je l'utilise même avec mon pc portable pour regarder des films !Produit très bien pensé dans les moindres détails (protection de l'enceinte et du câble)L'autonomie est hallucinante, j'avais peur de devoir le recharger tout le temps, au final je n'ai jamais besoin de le recharger il tient très bien la charge !Je le recommande, cette petite enceinte m'a tout simplement changé la vie
