Deluxe Cargo Carrier with Cage

Overall the Larin CC-500 Cargo Carrier is well engineered. I agree with Mr. Jochim that the instructions are abysmal. They should be used in a course on technical writing to show a bad example of assembly instructions. When I was assembling my Larin CC-500 I ran across two major issues:1. The 1 1/4" Receiver Tube - Item G (commonly referred to as a shank) did not fit into my factory Subaru receiver. During manufacture, the open end of the shank was hit on the inside of all four corners with what appears to be a chisel. I suppose this was intended to square the end of the shank to made for a tighter fit in the receiver. While it did square the end of the shank, it also created protrusions on the outside edges of each corner. I had to use a hammer and a file to get rid of these protrusions. It took a while but the carrier's shank did fit well.2. The hole in the Receiver Tube (shank) was large enough for the enclosed 1/2" Clevis Pin - Item H it was not, however, a true 1/2" hole suitable for my 1/2" Trimax TS32 Universal Receiver Lock. I had to use a 1/2" drill bit to open up the diameter of the hole slightly.It should be noted that the carrier is 59.5" by 19.5" with the baskets collapsed, it is 58" by 18" with them up. I noticed this when I was test fitting my Coleman RoadTrip LXX grill to the carrier. The grill's wheels are exactly 59 1/2" wide. I ended up removing the basket assemblies from one side of the carrier. The grill now fits perfectly and I still have a side that is enclosed by basket to hold a cooler and other stuff.In response to Mr. Jochim's observation about the clip on the Center Tube - Item F, my best guess is that it is a clip to secure wiring for an add-on lighting package and should therefore be installed with the clip opening up (towards the bottom of the Platform halves - Item D so the wires would not accidentally fall out). If this is the case, it would have been nice to mention it in the assembly instructions.

I love this carrier. Very sturdy and was able to carry up to five medium size suitcases. It fit perfectly for my 2016 Cadillac Escalade.

Item served its purpose but the side pieces were not welded strong enough and I have a lot of pieces that are no longer in place. The instructions for this product are horrible to understand so have patience!

Only giving it a 4 instead of 5 Star because1. The Center Bar (F) has a CLIP on the side of the Bar that is not described at all in the assembly instructions. What is the purpose of it? The bar can be mounted with the clip opening facing open under the cage...or Bar F can be reversed to have the Clip facing away from the bottom of the Cage. If a person assembles it the wrong way up or down they will have to redo the assembly. Online there is NO Tutorial on Amazon or YouTube for this model which seems ridiculous.2. The Instructions / Illustrations are small font and the pictures for Bar F have figures referring to other letters connecting to Bar F and are too small as well - frankly the assembly instructions are SAD...fire the engineering spec manual writers for lack of clarity.This video link is as close to the model above showing the functionality but no assembly steps - and you cannot see the Bar F CLIP that is on the side of the critical mounting Bar F.Other online searches have resulted in ZIPPO for information.

For the price, I am very pleased. I bought this to transport my weekly garbage to the transfer station. I've used it every weekend for a few months and am glad I chose this one.

It's a fine product, just a little heavy.

Everything is as expected. Wish the wire mesh was a little better.
