TNS 3000 vegetable slicer - Made in Germany - Orange

Fantastic. Would give 10 stars if I could. Have been through three zyliss julienne slicers in recent years, but had to keep throwing them away because they 'grew' rust, and didn't slice properly. This slicer is amazing. Seven different choices of thickness, and three width settings. I have used it nearly every day for the last three years or so. It is still sharp, and no signs of rust at all. I keep mine in the airing cupboard to dry it out after rinsing. As with all mandolins, you need to watch your fingers, consider buying a chainmail glove for extra safety. This little slicer is well worth the money.

I immediately sliced some potatoes and they were a success. (I just boiled them but because they were thinly sliced somehow they looked much more attractive on the plate - more appetising - and of course cooked quickly.) The clever holder actually doubles as a lemon squeezer ... but has plastic 'spikes' underneath which you use to hold the food in place while you slice. As long as you always do that, no risk of injury to your fingers. To slice an onion you need to cut it in half first or it slips about. The onion slices were much thinner than I would manage with a knife, so cooked quickly and evenly - very pleased. The leaflet is all in German, so I looked up translations on the internet. The slicer can't go in the dishwasher, and as soon as you've used it you need to swish it under the tap - lukewarm or cold water, it says. I didn't wash it till the next day but it was still easy to clean - just remember not to put fingers anywhere near the very sharp blade! (and definitely keep miles away from children!!!) I am impressed, and imagine I'll be using it most days. I would definitely recommend. Worth spending more for the sake of your fingers!

Took a bit of getting used to but now cracked it. I was pressing down on the holder far too hard and it wasn't cutting properly. With a lighter touch it cuts well. There should be better instructions with it though, which would help a lot. They were very basic. Overall happy with the cutter, but wouldn't say it's brilliant. Perhaps I was expecting miracles.

Solid, well made product. The blade is incredibly sharp and works well even on root vegetables. As with all things in life, it does take a little practise to get it working as designed. The key to keeping food in the holder is to keep a firm downward pressure on the holder while slicing. WARNING: Store this item where children cannot get their hands on it. I have nightmares about little children slicing the ends of their fingers off playing with the thing.

I bought this to replace my previous TNS mandolin which at at about 26 years old was beginning to show its age, although the blade remains as sharp as day 1! Without needing any fiddly extras this will slice, from super thin to thick, make matchsticks again of varying thickness and dice. And it comes with a juicing attachment! A very useful piece of equipment no kitchen should be without

This is the nicest mandoline I've ever used - and I've used a few. The design is simple but subtle; the idea of including the julienne cutters in the body of the base is inspired - no need to ferret around in the kitchen cupboard for them! The hooked feet for mounting over a bowl work well. It's easy to hold steady, so you can slice really quickly and confidently, with no concerns about slicing a thumb if the device tips over (it just won't).

So much better than the Rikon Kuhn slicer that I was using before - definitely worth the extra money. Carrots and celery in paper-thin slivers with no effort at all. Grips for holding onto the rim of a bowl are a great idea and the angle of handle is perfect. I can see I'm going to be using this a lot. Just hope someone starts selling replacement blades on Amazon as currently only available from German website...

This slicer is really good. I am slowly improving my skill in using it. I struggled at first and doubted its usefulness. I also cut my thumb and had blood everywhere. But that was my fault for not using the guide. I watched some videos on YouTube and picked up a few hints from that. I now look forward to cooking finely sliced vegetable and salads. I would definately recommend it.

Da quando ho comprato casualmente, molti anni fa a una Fiera a Trieste, questo affetta verdure, si può dire che non ho mai più usato altro. Non solo. L'ho regalato a mia mamma e adesso lo sto comprando per i miei figli che mettono su casa propria. È comodo, resistente, facile da usare, facile da pulire, efficiente. Due manopole da ruotare, per scegliere il tipo di taglio e lo spessore desiderato, e null'altro. Si impugna con la mano sinistra e si muove la verdura con la destra, eventualmente protetta dall'apposito para mani. Il taglio è scorrevole e le verdure si riescono a tagliare fino in fondo. Caduto molte volte, non si è mai rotto né scheggiato. Se poi le lame non tagliano più bene, si possono ordinare quelle di ricambio. Insomma, anche se mi sono lasciata altre volte sedurre da dimostrazioni di altri prodotti simili, non ho mai trovato niente che possa minimamente uguagliare il TNS 3000, né, tanto meno, sostituirlo.

Unschlagbar: Nur ein Zubehörteil, die Messer sind superscharf, am Stellrad können verschiedene Stärken und/oder Scheiben, Stifte oder Würfel eingestellt werden. Sehr langlebig!!! Ich habe keinen besseren gefunden, wird bei uns schon seit Jahren verwendet.

de constructie is best wel geniaal, wat ik mooi vind is dat de juliennesnijders en snijhoogte los van elkaar in zijn te stellen. maar ik heb ernstige twijfel aan de stabiliteit van de juliënnemessen, ze zijn zó dun dat ik er geen bataat of pastinaak aan zou durven wijden. ik twijfel er ook aan of het apparaat werkelijk goed kan worden schoongemaakt, omdat de messen zo verstopt zitten onder het bovenblad.
