Purple not Red
I have only sown a few of these but I had really great germination rates. It's a beautiful and wonderfully mild basil that I will use in my bruschetta and caprese salads, but if you're looking for a red like in the picture you might not get that. All of the basil that has sprouted and grown so far (almost 12 inches high each) for me is purple.

Too early to tell
They arrived on time. I have planted them. It is too early to tell if they meet my expectations.

definitely not as red as the picture.
But, this stuff is great. Hearty plants. Deep purple with green flecks. Strong flavor perfect for bruschetta. Kind of stiff in the mouth. Toughish leaves. Great though

So far, so good!
100% germination on these seeds. What more could you ask? This variety was recommended by a friend; we'll see how well I like them.

FALSE ADVERTISING
This is just common "purple basil" which you can find anywhere. Do not be fooled, it is NOT RED. I personally wanted red colored basil because of certain dishes where red color would be preferable, purple is not very appetizing in most dishes. A purple pesto for example, does not look like something you want to eat. So if you are OK with a mild, PURPLE basil, this may be a good purchase for you.

plain common purple basil NOT RED
I was disappointed to find this was just common purple basil you can buy anywhere and not very good tasting at that. It is very sharp on the tongue and makes your mouth a bit numb. It is not what is pictured at all.
