Setup was straightforward, the bulb paired without much trouble, and Matter support is a real advantage if you already use a mixed smart home setup. In my case, integration with Home Assistant was simple and worked as expected, which adds a lot of practical value. Brightness is very good for a 9W bulb, and the colour temperature range is especially useful. It can go from a warmer, softer light to a much cooler white, so it feels flexible enough for both general room lighting and mood lighting. The colour options are also broad, and while novelty scenes are not something everyone will use daily, it is nice to have them included. Build quality feels solid, and overall it is easy to use once added to your smart home platform of choice. The only real limitation is the lack of Zigbee support, but that was clear before purchase, so it is hard to treat that as a major negative unless Zigbee is specifically what you need. For the price, this is a very competitive bulb. It offers a lot of the convenience and functionality people look for in more expensive alternatives, but at a much more accessible cost. A good option for anyone wanting a bright, versatile smart bulb with reliable Matter compatibility.

I picked up the Govee smart bulb to add some ambient lighting options to my living room and it’s been a pleasant surprise. The brightness range is genuinely more noticeable than my other basic 16W led bulb! Warm whites look natural and cosy and the RGB colours are really vivid without looking washed out. The app control for me is quick and responsive and the preset scenes are actually useful rather than gimmicky. The colour transitions are smooth, and the bulb remembers its last setting, which is great when you simply want to turn the light on or off. You can also group the bulbs together so to easily control all the bulbs either by using a physical switch or simply through the app. Setup took less than a minute, and it connected to Wi‑Fi and added to my Alexa on the first try. If I had to nitpick the music activated feature could be better (as there's no mic input built-in, you have to use your phone to 'listen'). Overall, it’s a great value smart bulb with impressive vibrant colour accuracy and reliable app control. I'd happily buy another or more to replace the other bulbs around the house.

Has so much customisation available on the app, as well as so many different features such as automatically turning on when the sun goes down. Really good. Works well with Alexa, you can control the colour and brightness with voice activation, and also link it to alarms on Alexa and probably more that I haven’t set up yet. Was really easy to set up too. 😋😋 Amazing for the price.

I'm quite familiar with Govee Lights, as I've purchased quite a variety of them over the years, with this being my most recent purchase. I had LED bulbs previously and decided it was time to upgrade to something with a little more pizzazz. I purchased these, and they arrived the next day (thanks Amazon!) and were packaged in a neat little box, with the bulbs being very well protected. The box included all the warranty, safety and operation instructions. Installation was a breeze, and setup was just as easy (for me at least) since I already had the Govee Home App installed for the other Govee lights I already had. Basically you just switch on the lights, pair them over Bluetooth with the app on your phone (you'll need to pair each light separately), punch in your Wi-Fi password and you're done. The app is also super easy to use, with a plethora of colour, scene, timer and brightness options to choose from. You can also pair it with Alexa or Google through the app for some excellent hands free use. With Alexa you can cycle the colour, brightness and power (with it being very responsive and hassle free), controlling each individual light, or all of them as a group. Just make sure to place them in a group in the Alexa app if you want to control them as a together if using more than one. The bulbs also feature a music function that sees the lights respond to sound/music. I had to take a star away because while it seems like a nice feature on the surface, the responsiveness isn't the best, and you have to keep the Govee app open for it to function, which is a huge let down. It's not a deal breaker, but it's a very odd design choose. Still, these are some great lights that I highly recommend.

​I recently swapped out some old "dumb" bulbs for the Govee RGBWW Smart Bulbs in the B22 bayonet fitting. These are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled, so they work with Alexa and Google Home without needing a separate hub. ​The Good (Pros) ​The standout feature is the sheer range of colours and the quality of the "WW" (Warm White) light. Unlike cheaper RGB bulbs that struggle to produce a natural-looking white, these can go from a very cozy warm yellow to a crisp, bright daylight white that’s perfect for reading. The Govee Home app is one of the best I've used; it’s packed with pre-set scenes like "Sunrise" or "Movie Night," and the music sync feature—which uses your phone's mic to pulse the lights to the beat—is a fun touch for parties. The connection is very stable once set up, and the integration with Alexa is seamless, allowing for quick voice commands to dim the lights or change the mood. ​The Bad (Cons) ​The initial setup can be a bit of a faff, especially if your router isn't strictly separated into 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, as the bulbs only connect to the 2.4GHz frequency. I had to retry the pairing process a couple of times before they finally "caught" on the Wi-Fi. It’s also worth noting that these bulbs are slightly taller and chunkier than a standard old-fashioned lightbulb, so if you have a very shallow or tight lampshade, they might stick out the top a little bit. Finally, while the white light is very bright, the saturated colours (like deep reds or blues) are naturally a bit dimmer, which is typical for smart bulbs but worth keeping in mind if you wanted a "deep blue" room to be fully lit up. ​Final Verdict: For the price, Govee offers some of the best smart lighting on the market. The app features and the quality of the warm white light make these a fantastic upgrade for any home, as long as you have the patience for the initial Wi-Fi pairing.

I purchased these lights on offer and they have been amazing so far. They quality is good and they connect to my Alexa and Apple home app along with obviously the govee app too. The different affects you can use are. Easy to fit and set up, just takes a few tired with the apple home set up but other than that it’s quite easy. They are very responsive and they are very bright which is perfect. They can also sync with other devices so you can make a very immersive tv experience too. As these are LEDs the lifespan will be really long. My other ones lasted over 5 years.

There's not too much to expect or show. They work with Alexa and Google. They change colour and brightness. The app has some pre-set options which are of course quite limited since each bulb can just be one colour at a time. You can link the bulbs together in the app to achieve a bit more customisation. All in all they're smart bulbs. I'm sure they're much the same as other smart bulbs. These ones are Govee though and that means they're the same brand as my other smart lights. It's the same general experience as any other Govee lights. Govee is the best smart light experience I've had so far in terms of app experience and customisation options. There's not as much of a difference given how basic smart bulbs are but to me it's still worth getting Govee just so they're in the same app as all of my other smart lights. Worth noting that they only do the one type of connector so you'll need to plan the fitting accordingly or get an adapter (like I've had to so I can fit them into my old IKEA uplighter). Amazon wants me to say about noise level. I've not noticed any noise coming from the lightbulbs. I've not needed to contact support about these smart bulbs, but I have had an issue with some other Govee lights that was resolved quickly and well by the in app Govee support service. The lights I had were unfortunately broken, but after some brief checking I was sent a replacement that arrived within a couple of days. They've also helped me resolve a glitch that was affecting how another set connected to smart devices. The way I see it any products like this are bound to have a few errors here and there so I'm not fussed about the broken set but am happy about the quick and easy support response. It gives me confidence that if any other issues do pop up I'll be able to get them resolved.
