I hesitated on this purchase due to the price. But I needed to do something, as my original grate simply rusted and burnt through. So I ordered this part, I'm very happy I did.This part arrived in a secure box, in great shape, and better than I anticipated. This replacement part is true to dimensions, and though fits tight in my "Kingsford" charcoal grill, ... it fits perfect, as I no longer experience the lost blocks that seemed to find the edges to escape from the burning.This is a heavy piece, much more sturdy than the original Kingsford part. The grate itself is very well built, and has to be at least .003 thicker than the original. This may not sound like much, but when one considers the diameter of these grate wires, ... keep in mind it's not a cross section, so the .003 is on the full diameter which equals .009 thicker than the original equipment that comes with the grill. I got 4 years out of the original with perhaps 6 uses each year, before the bottom plate bean to dissolve and rust. During it's last year (2016) the wires were so badly deformed I had to move them back into position to prevent my coals from dropping through to the bottom plate.This replacement I expect to last at least (with proper care as with the original) twice the time, and I'm confident longer but I've been putting my grill to good use this year here in New England (Massachusetts), ... using it at least 3 times a month since this part arrived. So far, I've no complaints, and I expect to use it through the winter months, which will exceed my usual use. I'm very confident this replacement will last well with my intended use for at least 8 years. Damn, I'll be 70 years old by then, ... ,ight even outlive me!

This was ordered to replace the coal tray in a no-brand grill that we got from Walmart on clearance a couple of years ago. The grill itself is holding up really well but the coal tray was disintegrating. This tray was an almost perfect fit and just required the hanging hooks on the grill itself to be adjusted slightly.My first impression was that this was of much better quality than the tray that was supplied with the grill itself and couldn't wait to try it out.We are now 6 months in of using this tray and it has held up brilliantly. I use the grill at least twice a week and will often do long cooking sessions when smoking Brisket, Pork Butts or Ribs. I am also not the best at remembering to clean the coal tray after every cooking session but so far there are no signs of any rust, the welds are holding up really well and only one of the bars has warped a little from the heat.This tray has probably added another 2 or 3 years life to my bargain of a grill.

I just received the Ash Pan for my barrel grill. It is substantial! My father was a welder back in the day who moved up to QC inspection of power plants/boilers and started his own business of pressure vessel manufacturing... and I think he would have required four more tack welds on the grate. (5 tack welds per side and not 3 per side) What can I say, I grew up in construction.The only negative I can say comes from other reviews They state the welds have failed on a few. Hopefully this will not be the case in my purchase.Buy it! You will be happy with your purchase. I got this for a Backyard (Brand) barrel grill with a burned out ash pan. It's days were numbered and I did not want to purchase a new grill as the old one is in good shape.Easy replacement....Measurement of my old ash pan and this one are exact.

Given the brand name of this I assumed it must be made in Nashville, TN. I guess however that that's only the company that orders them as it plainly say's on the packaging that it is made in China. Oh, it's plenty sturdy and I'm sure it will be durable I just wish the name wasn't as misleading to me as it was.

We have a CharGriller Deluxe Griller Model 2929. The original OEM grate was all bent up and the ash pan was quite disintegrated after years of heavy use. We put this new one in today and it fits perfectly -- even the supports/handles line up with it just right. It seems more heavy-duty than the original one, but only time will tell if it lasts. For now, it's a small price to pay to get several more year's use out of an otherwise awesome grill! I would recommend getting this one vs. the replacement that chargriller offers.

Perfect fit. Ignore the other reviews saying this is painted. It is for sure not. When you get metal heated it will discolor. This is normal and will actually help protect the metal. There is no coating of any kind on this product. The corners were a little bent but like only 10 degrees for about 1/4 of an inch.

Our old grate had rusted to the point to where it was in pieces. Rather than purchase a new grill, we decided to buy this grate replacement. This grate is built just as sturdy and with the same quality as the original. Now we have a "new" grill at a fraction of the price. Don't throw away your old grill, try this replacement grate. Saves time and money! The size listed is accurate. Be sure you measure the inside of your grill prior to ordering.
