Pokemon Adventures (Gold&Silver) Vol. 12

Silver and Gold awaken on the on the Whirl Islands where they encounter a legendary and powerful Pokémon but also finally meet with Crystal. Meanwhile, Suicune is still challenging Gym Leaders in order to find a partner who is worthy to fight by its side and the Pokémon Association is preparing for the next League Tournament, which is to begin with an exhibition match involving all the Johto and Kanto Gym Leaders. Team Rocket however is beginning to move once again.This twelfth volume of the 'Pokémon Adventures' manga is another very entertaining instalment of this very entertaining manga. The volume includes some very nice action with the highlight probably being the ice battle in the Mahogany Gym. The volume also sees the plot advance as the Pokémon League Tournament begins to move with Gold and Crystal planning to confront the Masked Man. There is also a flashback that shows us how Suicune, Raikou and Entei were released from the Burnt Tower of Ecruteak City.The artwork for the series remains very good (especially the double page spread of the sixteen Gym Leaders) and the series still has some nice comedy throughout as well with the interactions between Gold and Crystal being particularly good. The volume also includes some bonus content in the form of information about the Pokémon and the Gym Leaders as well as the usual afterword by the artist and writer, and information on the main character's Pokémon.This was a very entertaining volume and is well worth a full five stars.
