TomTom Go 620 With Wifi - Lifetime World Maps, Traffic, Handsfree

I just purchased this device because of the free world maps and free lifetime traffic. I now come to find out that this so-called global device is purposely crippled by TomTom. Even though the maps are free and truly world wide, the live traffic will not work outside of whatever region you bought the device in. A device purchased from the United States will only get traffic in North America. If you take it to a city in Europe that has live traffic and get a local cell phone with a local data plan, no live traffic for you. Tomtom has purposely crippled the device.Between this and the loss of useful features from older devices, this latest and "greatest" offering from TomTom is sadly disappointing. I have been a fan of TomTom for years, but when it is time to replace this device I will give serious consideration to the competition.I gave this product two stars instead of one because the global maps will save me money. I have two trips planned between now and the end of the year and to buy the maps separately for my old device would have cost me more than this unit.Update: TomTom is being deliberately misleading about this device, hence the reason why I lowered my review to one star. These devices are crippled, but TomTom customer service can activate global traffic if they want to. Unfortunately it is against their policy. I do not believe that it is unreasonable for someone to infer that when you purchase a device marketed as being global in nature with global maps and having live traffic features, that this feature will also work globally. The fact that it does not and that there is no disclaimer to that effect in their advertising leads me to question TomTom's honesty and integrity. This is my seventh TomTom device going back more than ten years and it very well could be my last.

This is the worst tom-tom I have ever bought, have had 2 before and this is not as good as the old ones. Plus have had problems connecting it to my iPhone for the live updates and tom-tom support not helpful at all

I have owned TOMTOM GPS' since their inception. My original stopped working with the recent clock update.I purchased a TOMTOM and have been disappointed. The touch screen interface is so slow you better plan ahead and don't even think of trying to enter new destinations while moving. When touching screen the desired button will light but will do nothing and eventually goes out. A retouch does the same until you give it enough try to finally hear a click. Once in navigation mode it seems to work well. Getting to the navigation mode is horribly slow and aggravating. Look some where else first.

I bought this Satnav because I was visiting Australia.I have used the Satnav in Ireland and Australia.It is an excellent product.It is easy to use. The maps are accurate.It is easy to maintain the device up to date and to switch between the global-regions maps, i.e. easy to switch from W. Europe to Australia and visa versa.I found the route-planning software really useful.I bought the global maps software, however these expired a few weeks after I got it (so I had access to Western Europe maps only). It took me some time to figure out how to get in contact with TomTom support, to get the World Wide map capability restored. I could not find any TomTom telephone number to call or an email address and it seemed I was in an endless loop with the chatbot who could not help.I got access to TomTom support through the chatbot. I asked the chatbot for TomTom support email. The chatbot did not provide me with an email address but it provided me with a means of communicating with somebody in TomTom support. My "email" was done in the normal Chabot dialogue window. This process was confusing and frustrating. I sent an image of the box and briefly explained my problem. My account / satnav was fixed / updated immediately.This solution was available all the time to me, but it was not clear to me.It's an excellent product and I would have no hesitation in recommending it and buying it again.

If you are familiar with the Tomtom range, you will love this. Bigger screen, easier operation, clear image easy to use. As normal the vocal commands don't really work but what you have never had, you don't miss. Delivery was so fast I couldn't believe it. If you don't have in-car navigation this is by far better than its competitors. For those complaining that there isn't an Aus map...check the updates in the Tomtom My Drive!!!

Muy bueno, si no viene instalada la voz de ordenador "Monika" ponte en contacto con el soporte de TomTom, les cuentas tu problema y ellos te lo solucionan sin problema (a mi me ha ocurrido). Esa voz es muy importante para uasarlo al 100%. Es un buen navegador, lo recomiendo.
