MagMod 2 Basic Kit, Includes MagGrip, MagGrid 2, MagGel 2 Kit, MagMod Transmitter Band, Carrying Pouch

I love my MagMods!I used to use the Rogue brand grid system before these became available, and while they were effective and for the most part pretty quick, they took a minute to set-up. Also, if I wanted a tighter beam of light, I had to take it off the speedlight to put the tighter grid in. Same with if I wanted to put a gel in.With these, it's instantaneous. If I need a narrower beam, I just slap another grid on. If I want to gel my light, BAM, throw on the gel holder. The band is a little difficult to put on the flash at first (even with my smaller flashes, such as the SB-600), but you get used to it pretty quick. It's a TIGHT fit. This baby ain't gonna fall off. The second generation of the grids make me much happier than the first- I don't fear my magnets falling out.Only downside, and this is a personal one, is the material they're made out of attracts dust, lint, and animal fur. I have a lot of furry animals, so.... I am constantly cleaning them off. Obviously, it in no way affects the quality of light, so it's an extremely minor complaint.

MagMod rocks! I met Trevor, JJ, and the other guys at Shutterfest and they are not only super nice and helpful, but they truly stand behind their product. The facebook group is an awesome resource too. These modifiers make flash so much easier to work with. This basic kit is perfect for getting started. I actually ended up buying a second basic kit to add to my extra speedlights for wedding receptions.

This solved a problem I was having with my gels falling off in cold weather. However, the item is pricy. The gels are not labeled so there is no way to tell what your grabbing without comparing them side by side and gel holder a bit clumsy which makes the whole process of changing gels slow :(. I also don't like the included soft fabric bag, it should have a case instead.

Lots of hype from Sal or Sol. He must have gotten nice commission. I ordered immediately based on his reviews. I have not found it to be that useful for much. Can see where it could help for very specific uses, but a pricey and bulky unit. Maybe I'm just not that tuned in. Let me know how this really helps, day to day!

Magmod is incredible. I'm so glad I made this investment. The things it can do are astonishing and it's so quick and simple to use. People ask me about it all of the time, and I love talking about it. You should buy it, I bet you won't be disappointed.

This kit is like reviewing toilet paper or air conditioning. If you use it once you can never go back. Only con is its getting too popular to the point that when I tried to order two more of this kit, it was sold out everywhere.

A good light mod package for most flashguns, though the silicon rubber attracts dust and is difficult to clean....

This is the perfect addition to the mag bounce/sphere. The grids and gels are awesome and very easy to use..
