I was looking around at a lot of rooftop tents to fit on short bed of my Ford Maverick Hybrid. I narrowed down to this one and the expensive i tent which they say is popular. When I compared features of both, the Naturenest was half the price with well thought out features and pretty good reviews. The biggest feature that won me over was the electric panel with LED lights out of the box. It did take a little involved wiring to route cables from my portable power station to the tent on top of the bed but I am so glad I got it working. With it, the tent is like a capsule hotel room. No more headlights and you can stay awake as long as you want. I even work on my laptop with a laptop stand I bought. They also provided another LED strip that mounts on the outside which is very nice to light up the area around the vehicle when it gets dark and you want to cook or do other stuff. I was thinking the tent will hang out a little outside the tail end of Maverick bed but it fit perfectly with a 2 inches to spare to clear the radio antenna. The bed rack I bought to mount this on gave me some headaches but I was able to eventually mount it securely. Naturenest customer service is excellent. They have a dedicated team for Amazon customers and Ms Flora from the team was very eager to help me solve the issue. The tent is very well made with heavy duty material everywhere. I like the four windows with double zipper openings which are very easy to operate and have a setup where you can let as much light and outside air as you want or completely close it out. It is pitch dark when you close everything and are ready to go to bed which is nice. Mattress is a little firm and takes a few days to get used to but it's pretty good and the inside area is nice and comfortably good for two adults. I have been using this RTT for more than a week for a road trip and it has performed well as advertised. One night it was raining the whole night and the tent stayed completely dry inside. It takes 2 to 3 minutes to set up and close down. The only part they can improve on is the ladder which could be a little smoother. The sections are loose. Some friction would make it better. Overall a very good, well thought out tent. Update after a 2 month road-trip across US and Canada: This tent performed as expected. It was a comfortable 14000 miles road trip with this tent on this solo trip in May and June. The tent doesn't show much sign of use after 2 months. Nothing is worn out or broken. It looks as good as new. There were at least 10 days when I camped out in rainy nights and the tent was completely dry inside. There will be some condensation in humid weather that is expected. It was perfect for my vehicle. Will use it next summer for a trip with spouse. The best feature I liked was I could leave my bedding (deflated air foam mattress and regular bed pillow) inside and close the tent and I could spend nights on phone/laptop with overhead LED lights that can be powered by portable USB charger or USB charger inside the tent powered by 12V cable.

This is my first experience with a mounted tent. The instructions are not for a beginner DIYer. Depending on your rack, you may have to do some modifications. If your using a low profile rack, purchase an extra extra long open end 10mm wrench. If your using a Hooke Rd rack, or any other rack that doesn't have keyslots drilled on both ends, drill some key slots on the opposite end of the slats that already has the key slots made. If you wish to mount a canopy without removing the tent, you will need to do this. Or virtually any thing on the opposite side. If your wanting to use a mounted shower, it wont work with the sirius model on the same side the tent folds out on. If your using a canopy on the opposite side you will have to modify the shower otherwise use a pop UP tent. The tent itself is great. Fairly roomy. Completely seals off the world. I purchased mine with the annex. Great move for me. I dont have the canopy yet so the annex provides me my privacy and shelter from the weather. The tent kept me adequately warm down to the 30s. I purchased the liner and at -5°, I was still comfy in my bed with two wool blankets. I will get a heater though for next year.

I want to start by saying this tent is awesome. As soon as I opened it out of the crate I could tell that it was good quality. The tent feels super sturdy and it was easy to set up. The fabrics feels strong and durable, and all the zippers open and close super easy. Getting inside I gave it a test camp in my front yard and the mattress is super comfortable I got in the tent climbed in my sleeping bag and was instantly comfortable. The mesh windows also allow the best airflow I have personal encountered in any tent I’ve had. There was a nice breeze and I was comfortable all night. The tent looks great on top of my truck and I really like the the crossbar feature on the top of the tent for my solar panel! The customer service was also awesome! In my instance my tent had came looking used. There were obviously signs it was mounted and dirtied and scuffed in the ladder and mounting rails, along with the hardware being stripped and a bolt broken. I contacted customer service which responded very promptly and gave me a partial refund as compensation for buying new hardware and the tent arriving not in brand new condition. They were extremely helpful and prompt and their great service mades this tent and them as a company a solid 5 stars!!!

I finally got to use my new RTT after purchasing at the end of November in January when it was cold with some rain out in the mountains of Georgia and again at the end of February when it was warm and cold. The tent overall worked very well on both trips. I only have 3 complaints about the product. 1. When installing the tent the bolts for the rack on top of tent were not the right size for the track. 2. The cool power strip inside tent does not work. it lights up led button but does not work anything that plugs in including the led lights. 3. The led lights when plugged into other power source work but only stay on bright and the control buttons do not adjust settings or cut off. I have recommended the RTT to several of my friends and two have already bought them and we have enjoyed using them. NOTE: There were no problems with their lights not working but I think one had trouble with his power strip.

Very easy install, was impressed that it came with a ratchet wrench. Very nice tent, opens and stows away with ease. Mattress seems comfortable. Can’t wait to use it
