No plastic in your tea and lovely with real honey
For a caffeine-free cuppa, without using teabags made from plastic, without anything but good taste (with a bit of honey added ! ), you just cannot go wrong. My partner comes from South Africa and was a bona-fide coffee drinker - she now loves this in the evening, warm or cold. Highly recommended.

The strongest liquorice tea around
I came to liquorice tea from the Yogi Tea Licorice Spice Infusion 15 Teabags available in supermarkets. That said, they sell out quick so I decided to buy some of them and these Clipper ones from Amazon. Both arrived 2 days later with free delivery and I have had the chance to compare them. The Yogi tea is not pure Liquorice, it has other spices and is not as sweet as this. The liquorice aftertaste with the Yogi is more subtle than with the Clipper. But the clipper liquorice tea is pure 100% liquorice tasting. Brew it for 7 minutes and after drinking it you will be tasting liquorice for a good half hour afterwards. If you want strong liquorice tea, this Clipper is just the thing. Liquorice is naturally 20 times sweeter than sugar, but has basically no calories. It is caffeine free but I always find that it perks me up and gives me a buzz but doesn't affect sleep afterwards. Please note that these teas do not taste like Liquorice allsorts - they are anniseed flavoured rather than root liquorice like these teas are. Lovely!

Still good tea, but
Been buying these for years & is good flavour tea but the bag contents seem to have been pared down exactly for the average cup - you can no longer let the bag stew a bit for a slightly stronger brew, or make a decent large mug. Probably a drive for economy along with the loss of the foil pack once used to preserve freshness but now apparently no longer needed. Overall still good, but like mostly everything else not quite as it once was - imo.

A little more expensive, but worth it.
I find Clipper to be more consistent than a lot of brands, it can be a little more expensive but the flavour is always good and I know I'm going to the same taste as the last batch, so I can order a multipack with confidence.

Almost too sweet, but a very pleasant taste and tastes just like liquorice root.
Whether you enjoy this tea or not is, I think, very much a matter of taste. If you're expecting it to taste like liquorice all sorts, aniseed, or fennel, then you will probably come away disappointed. If you have actually had liquorice root, then this will be much more familiar. Personally I've never liked the aniseed flavours normally associated with liquorice, so that's just fine with me! The taste is very sweet. I think if you made a strong infusion of it you could probably use it as an alternative to sugar in tea or coffee! It's almost too sweet for me, and I find I am drinking it very slowly. It's not unpleasant though. There is a slight woodiness under both the taste and smell, again, not unpleasant, but I think that's where some of the dislike probably comes from. If there's one overall thing I'd say about Clipper tea, it's that their teas and infusions actually taste of something, even if you don't overbrew them. I'm finding I have to brew things for less time than I would for other brands, because fruit teas can be decidedly insipid. With Clipper infusions I can very easily come up with something that's too strong and needs diluting, which is a problem I don't think I've ever had with fruit tea before. I've been using some of the tea bags several times, whereas with many fruit teas I'd be tempted to use two bags for one cup. This liquorice root has the same issue if you make it too strong, particularly given how sweet liquorice is all on its own. I don't have an especially sweet tooth, and if over brewed it's a little like someone dumped several teaspoons of sugar in the cup. Mouth pinchingly sweet!! I ended up diluting it out of necessity. Overall, though, yes, it's fine. I'm torn because three stars seems maybe a little harsh, but I think four stars would be overstating my enthusiasm, and I will I think be using it more to stave off the odd sweet craving and for its potential health benefits than drinking it as my first choice of beverage, but it does what it purports to do, which is taste of liquorice root, so really I have no complaints.

Something sweet
I love these Teabags, I don't touch caffeine and I'm not a huge fruit tea fan. I find these are great when I fancy something sweet, a lot healthier than a bar of chocolate! I have adrenal fatigue and have found no problem with drinking this tea, my understanding is that liquorice is meant to help support the adrenals, please understand I'm not a medical professional so double check this beforehand. If you're looking for something different then give these a try, you may just like them! Great value as well!

I was really hoping this would taste like the rooibos tea I fell in love with at a hotel in Finland — smooth, slightly sweet, and naturally calming. Unfortunately, this one just isn’t the same.
