A very bright flashlight in an amazingly small package!
This is a very bright flashlight in an amazingly small package!I wanted to get a flashlight that was bright, with different brightness levels, that used rechargeable batteries, and that was fairly portable. The first flashlight I got was the Nitecore P12. It was simple to use, bright, and well built. However, it was sized more for carrying in my bag than on my person. This Zebralight SC62 flashlight delivers the same brightness, with even greater adjustability, and in a smaller package! That they both accept the 18650 batteries is an added bonus.I like the controls, as well as the clip. The Zebralight stays in my waist pack, and the Nitecore is either left at home or in my bag.

A solution in search of a problem.
I am not a flashlight fanatic. I'm more of a boyscout "always be prepared" type. I care more about practical functionality than collecting flashlights. I'd rather have a few good ones that last and be done. Given that, I LOVE Zebralight. They are super bright, super durable, and I like the controls. Coworkers use streamlights and fenix, and my Zebras outperform them. I truly believe Zebralight is superior to the competing brands. I've had the SC31, SC32, SC52, and now the SC62. I've bought about 10 of Zebralights and given most of them away as gifts (I use the SC52 as an EDC and store the SC32 at home for backup). When I saw the 1000-lumen, "pocket-sized" SC62, I had to try it. Unfortunately I'm a LITTLE (only a little) disappointed. The SC62 is my least liked of the Zebralights. It feels about the same weight in the hand as other zebralights half the size - and that makes it feel flimsier by comparison (though still quite sturdy). I've run over my SC52 (the AA version) with my car and it didn't take a scratch. I wouldn't try that with the SC62. It is a pretty well made product and I don't really regret the purchase, but for the price it isn't as practical as other models or competing brands. The SC62 is smaller than competing single 18650 lights, but it is still too large to be a good Every Day Carry light. In dickie work pants, it is large enough to become slightly uncomfortable in the pocket after a while and it is out of the question for tight jeans pockets. It is large enough to catch on things if worn on the belt. I'm sure some people will use this as an EDC, but the smaller SC32 (cr123) or SC52 (AA) models would be much better choices for EDC. If you MUST have an 18650 powered EDC, this would be the one to choose, but it is excessive for that purpose. The SC62 is extremely bright, but such brightness is not all that helpful. Testing it in a field on an overcast night (VERY dark), there was no PRACTICAL improvement over the 200-300 lumens that the smaller models produced. Sure it was brighter, but I could see where I was going and what was in the distance just as clearly either way. The super-bright setting is only really helpful to point out things in twilight (not deep darkness) where a weaker beam would be washed out. The 1000 lumen setting is too much to use for work (such as checking under the hood of a car at night) because it produces too much glare. On the medium setting it can last for a super long time, but you'll never NEED it to last that long, so at $85 it is excessive for a toolbox or home emergency light. So for car/trailer camping, home, or any use where size is not a major concern, you can get a slightly larger Nitecore light that performs almost as well for half the price. For an EDC or work light, a smaller zebralight SC52 or SC32 is a better choice. The SC62 is a fine product, but for the price it isn't ideal for any particular task. It really is a solution is search of a problem.

Cool little 18650 flashlight!
After using a Fenix PD22UE as a head light (with a Nite Ize head band) I wanted a flashlight that used 18650's instead. I wasn't getting the endurance from CR123's, but I wanted a flashlight as small as a PD22UE. Then I found out about the Zebra Light SC62. I was amazed how small this thing is AND used a 18650 battery. The SC62 is only about 3-3/4" long, only a 1/4" longer than the PD22UE I was using. 18650 battery capacity, small lightweight body, and up to 1000 lumens, Im happy! Only tiny negative is it doesn't come with a pouch like most other flashlights do. Also, I would have preferred a tail cap switch instead, takes a bit longer for me to hunt for the button by feel but not a deal breaker. I found the Streamlight ProTac 1AA sheath, item #88037, fits perfectly.

My absolute favorite pocket light.
I'm a flashaholic. Can't get enough of the stuff. I've collected foursevens Maelstroms/preons, Eagtac D25C/D25A and a few fenix lights I can't remember. This Zebralight is by far the best of the pocket carrying lights.Pros:I prefer the Zebralight's UI over everyone else's. I love the six brightness modes and the ease of accessibility. The three primary modes are accessed by holding the power button. Simply powering the light by clicking the button once will get you the max brightness. Double clicking while in a primary mode will get you the secondary mode. It sounds complicated but after a half hour, I've grown to prefer this over all other lights. All modes are quickly accessible. Possibly the smallest light you'll find that uses a 18650 rechargeable battery. Barely larger than a regular single-AA flashlight.Cons:It's a little on the heavy side when compared to AA and CR123 lights because of the 18650 battery. The unique ribbed styling might not suite everyone.Bottom Line:1000 lumens in a light slightly larger than a single-AA flashlight with the power and longevity of a 18650 battery. Quite possibly the most balanced EDC light you'll find.

BEST EDC LIGHT- and im a flashlight nerd.
I'm a flashlight nerd. I have over 25 lights and growing. I have custom built lights. I have very expensive lights. I own a 24/hr mobile truck repair service and I am also a full time professional firefighter. THIS IS MY FAVORITE EDC LIGHT! I lost one and did not even hesitate to buy another one. When I recommend a light to anyone I recommend this one. It is just that awesome. The size, power, versatility form checking on the baby @ night to lighting up a scene of a service call. This is my favorite light because it is so small and so Brite and I love the interface. Buy it......I promise you it will probably become your favorite as well.

Very bright. Gets HOT quickly. Accepts protected 18650 cells.
I use this light on my handlebars, with the flash mode on, while cycling. Very visible, even in bright sunlight.Stays cool while moving, gets HOT quickly when stopped. Get about 2-3 hours out of a 18650 cell. One of the few 18650 lights that will use a protected 18650 cell, but it's a tight fit on the sides (diameter is tight, length is fine).
