I have acid reflux and learned to take this, as well as zinc l carnitine, for stomach lining protection/healing. I stopped taking it after the last bottle, just assumed I didn't need it anymore. Recently, I started getting "the burn" after eating anything, and had to start a famotidine regimen again. Then remembered mastic gum, and immediately the problem was solved. Burn in gone. This stuff is just wonderful and no side effects. You should not take zinc l carnitine for a long period of time, so I am able to stop it now. I take one mastic gum first thing every morning. If I am worried about what I am going to eat, I take one before. It works on an empty stomach.

It has really helped my acid reflux. But I'm not sure how safe it is to take long term and haven't been brave enough to try dropping my acid reducer and use it by itself yet as it takes me days of pain to get back to normal if that doesn't work. But I was having break-thru acid using prevacid alone and this took care of that.

I was very skeptical about this product. I wasn't sure it something out there could actually help my severe stomach problems but I decided to try it. I have to tell you that this product is excellent. I used to suffer from severe stomach pains that were caused by almost all foods, and acid build up. Sometimes it was so bad I couldn't sleep and I would feel so tired and miserable.. my quality of life was terrible. I have taken this product for two months now and the results are wonderful. I no longer experience the pains I had after eating. I have been able to sleep well, and I no longer have to sleep sitting up, instead I can just sleep like normal. When I wake up in the mornings I don't feel any acidity anymore. I used to taste acid all the time in my mouth. My problem was so severe it felt like there was nothing that could help. I plan on taking this product for six months. Then I'll stop and hope that I will stay doing amazingly! This is the way I take it: In the mornings, as soon as I wake up, I take two capsules with water. Then I make sure to do something before I eat; anything so that I can give my stomach time to absorb it a little before I put food in it. Then after that I eat something small. I feel like this has worked very well. Before trying Mastic Gum I was on an alkaline diet. I have stayed eating a strict alkaline diet. For those suffering from acid issues, I would recommend Mastic Gum and trying an alkaline diet. I really wish that people who suffer from stomach issues (like I was) to try this product. It might truly change your life.

It's really a shame that they would use such a cheap filler that does damage to the gut and dangerous insulin spikes. Shame on them. I purchased this thinking it was mastic gum in gum form, after comparing it with several others that were. Definitely user error… I’m sure I could’ve found that information I within the description. Wanted to drop a review for others who were searching for the gum form. This supplement isn’t returnable even if unopened :(
