Works great! I feel safer walking dogs at night.

As I’m quite experienced in ordering things I need off of Amazon, I am well aware of the risks of purchasing something without seeing it in person first. But as someone with serious exercise goals for the new year, I wanted to make sure I would be able to safely walk or ride my bike during the darker winter months. I ran across this product while looking for safety accessories, and I thought it looked like it was worth the risk even though I wasn’t able to see it physically first. I am beyond satisfied with the Illumiseen reflective belt – the quality workmanship and the variety of ways it can be used are actually much better than I expected.I have purchased simple reflective belts in the past, but this one is constructed with much better materials that will make it very durable for sure. The elastic of the belt is extremely sturdy and the clasp as well as the adjustment buckle are both made of strong plastic – no flimsy materials with this belt! I also love the technology offered and wasn’t even aware it existed in terms of the LED rechargeable lights through USB charging. The instructions are very easy to understand, and the belt itself works in multiple ways. I like that I can choose to use the lights or not because the reflective stripes in the belt glow in the dark even if the LED lights are off. And the lights themselves are made just as well as the rest of the belt. It is great being able to choose whether the bright neon green lights stay solid or flash, so I can adjust my visibility as needed.It also works great on my dog! The belt adjusts to fit around her chest just as well as it fits me so whenever I don’t want to wear it myself, my dog can wear it when we go on our walks at night and we’re both safe. I am very happy with my purchase and expect that I am going to get years of great use out of this reflective gear. I am actually going to be purchasing one for my nephew as well as my Mom because they both like to walk or ride bikes in the dark and this will keep them safe too.

This belt works exactly as I had hoped. It is comfortable around my waist and VERY BRIGHT when turned on. I am a runner and always run against traffic, so I wear the lighted portion on my front to alert oncoming cars to my presence. I see them spot me much further away than normal, even if there are some bushes between us. It is exactly that margin of safety I was looking for. I use the belt in the dark AND at dusk because I know it can be hard for drivers to see runners as we move in and out of shadows.I charge the belt about every two weeks and it holds plenty of charge for me. I run 5-6 times a week for about 45 minutes each. I've never had the battery run out on me. There is a rubber cover to the charging port, which uses a standard micro USB cable (included) to provide protection when running in weather.The manufacturer recommends charging for no more than an hour. This is different from my phone, which I leave charging overnight. This is not recommended for the belt. So what I do is plug it in when preparing dinner (I am a morning runner), and remove the charger after dessert. The small LED tells you its charging status when it's plugged in - turning from red to green.Note that the lighted portion of the belt will only really face in one direction, so you must chose whether you want to alert drivers behind you or ahead. The LED's are flexible, but not terribly so, which makes it impossible to completely surround the waist. I bought a second belt to cover my back and may use that in the dead of winter, but for now I simply hooked my bicycle's red flasher to the back of the belt to alert cars behind me. Like I said, as a runner I am primarily concerned with oncoming traffic.In all, the belt is very well made, buckles securely, and I expect will last a good long time.

Introduction:I was struck by a vehicle at night-time while crossing the street. After I healed up a bit, I decided to purchase this band to prevent that from happening again. Plus, if it ever happens again while I'm wearing this band, maybe it would be considered gross negligence this time...Pros:USB Rechargeable. I preferred this over batteries.Has both a solid illumination and flash setting.The LED is bright enough to see at night.Cons:Seems to gobble electricity even though I only use it for ~30 minutes or less per day. A full charge lasts me about 7.5 hours by my own estimate.This band does not illuminate both sides of your body. It is just long enough to light up half of you. You would need 2 for full coverage.It can be a tight fit depending on how you wear it and how big you are.Additional Information:If you wear both a backpack and this, it will be harder to take off your backpack since you have to take this off first. If you wear this under your backpack, it will be harder to see the light and probably feel uncomfortable.Conclusion:Overall, this is a pretty nice band. It lights up to a good brightness, has easy-to-see colors (I use the red), and has a green light to indicate when it is done charging. I am sure that it is helping cars see me, but it is probably only worth wearing if you are walking or biking during dark hours. If you are wearing this in sunlight, it would probably be more effective to just practice safer walking/biking/jogging. I am docking a star because the information clearly says "It gives you 360 degrees of visibility," but this is untrue. It only gives you 180 degree visibility. If you put this on and have it face outwards from your right side, look in a mirror and you won't even see the light. So there is a blind spot and the ad incorrectly states that there isn't.
