Worked well on super thick coat!
I have a horse with cushings and regular clippers couldn't handle that thick curly coat! These worked really well, and she is so happy now!

Didn’t actually use the product , but very nice company that sells them.
I ordered these because I needed something heavy duty to trim my golden doodle who has a ton of hair. My cheaper clippers weren’t doing a great job and it’s $100 if I took him to the groomer! I always read reviews and saw that one or two people said they were great for their long haired dog! Even though these are sheep shears I decided what the heck I’ll give it a try.Well, there is no adjustable length for these clippers, so unless you want to shave your dog all the way down to the skin like a sheep, you prob shouldn’t get them.I will give this product 4 stars, because even though I didn’t use them, they look and felt like some super heavy duty clippers and the company was wonderful to work with me in returning them!

Effective tool for the hobby shepherd.
These clippers will do the job well when you have enough practice. The company was responsive to my questions. I was able to finish my "first time" sheering in a reasonable amount of time.I needed an inexpensive solution for my 5 sheep. This 5 watt electric clipper cut the wool smoothly and cleanly. I am a first time sheep shearer with hours of "YouTube" training. The sheep did not lay down as portrayed, they did not cooperate in any was as demonstrated in many videos on-line. The difficulties I had with sheering the sheep were all due to my stupendous inexperience.RAM-A-LAMBA/DING DONG:Ram-A-Lamb was so embarrassed by his first cut, he wouldn't come out of the barn. The lamb, "Ding-Dong' got a better sheering but it was long and shaggy. Bella (the dame) got the best cut of all and I was able to clean up the "kids" after taking several hours to do a 1 hour job.CAUTION: Pull the skin tight and cut in long strokes where possible. DO NOT pull the wool up to cut, you will take off chunks of skin. Pull the skin tight and cut under the coat.

Did my heard of 15 no issues
The last time I bought sheers I bought a cheap $99 pair. They didn't last long. Motor burned up before I could get through the herd. This one fared much better however I do admit one...it takes me a long time to do just one sheep not becauseor the product but because I'm not a pro and I am careful not to cut my girls. And two. because the last ones burned out so quickly I would let this one rest after each sheep. Choosing to pick a ewe that needed more foot care of something in between the woolly ones. The bladed do get gunked with lanolin and if you stop to clean off they cut much better. In other words the issues I had were par for the course and not to blame the sheers. If they last one more eason Id say I got a good deal. Overall you get what you pay for and I found this product satisfactory in doing the job I needed for doing a small heard on your own. Happy Sheep!

Don’t purchase
Do not waste your money taking a gamble on this purchase. Most of the five star reviews that you see are people who say that they clipped their dogs with these clippers. These clippers are not intended for dogs they are only for sheep, Alpaca and other fiber animals. I only have three Alpaca and that I shear once a year. I could barley get through one side of the first alpaca before they bogged down. I sought advice from my neighbor who has 100 head of alpaca. He agrees that this product is garbage. I tried multiple blades, guards, and blade sizes with no difference in cut. This is not a good product. I would not purchase again and I would not recommend this product to friends or family.

Sturdy built, however the blades suck. Had to order different blades to get it to cut my sheep
Solid built clipper. Blades died after a couple short passes. Now my sheep looks like it was in a fight with a weed eater and is still not sheared/clipped. Overall disappointed in the product. They do not function for their designed purpose.Update: the manufacturer recommended that I switch blade to a #13 for courser/denser wool. I bought 2 sets and tried one out the day they were delivered. The 13 Blades were actually sharp and I was able to shear/clip my Sheep without too much fuss. I did have some difficulty with reinstalling the new blades as the tensioner knob was wedged on a retaining ring/clip. Just removed the retaining ring under knob and was able to get the blades to set in properly.

Nice shears
I was skeptical at first, but my daughter is in several groups and this was recommended. We've had a hard time with an undependable shearer, he's good, but didn't show up or call. Due to health issues over the last few years we've decided to drop the numbers in our flock. Dropping the number also made my daughter feel more positive that she could shear them. Our very ancient shears no longer work well, the new set I spent a lot of money on doesn't work, so we needed to get another set. She researched and it was between this set and another set, she chose this one and it's been a good choice for us. Due to work schedules and a hand injury, she can only do about 3-5 per session, but it works out great.

Excellent customer service
I ordered these to use on my Angora goats and Shetland sheep. I tried them in the goats first, the result wasn't great but the seller responded right away and suggested using a different blade. Unfortunately, the different blade made no difference but the seller worked with me to come to a satisfactory solution. In reading the other reviews, I believe these will work great on dogs and horses. For those of you who think your dog's coat is as thick as any sheep, you are wrong... its not the same at all.
