This is a very good deal. My goal was to make a mainstream media and general use computer on a budget. I'm quite happy with it. It works perfectly for me. I installed two 4G 1600 Mhz RAM srticks I had handy, a 500G HDD, an NVIDIA GForce 710 GPU, and used the spare PCI e x1 slot for a RAID controller. I put the system inan oversize gaming case with a ton of bright LED fans because I love such things to decorate my systems. I also had a spare 800W PSU. Overkill, for sure, but it was otherwise not being used. I installed Ubuntu Mate, which runs pretty well. My goal was a secure nonWindows rig for certain uses such as checking bank balances and paying bills. I love Windows 10, but am not 100% sure that it's totally safe for such uses. Anyway, installation is easy because the CPU comes installed for me. All I had to do was put it in the case with the other components. I'm using it right now to write this review and have also purchased more hard drives online for my RAID.

Could have been a five star. It does what I bought it to do. Run an HTPC for streaming movies and basic internet browsing. Hooked up directly to an Ethernet cable it streams movies and videos more smoothly than a wifi unit like the firestick or the smart TV.The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it falsely advertises that it can run 16gb of RAM (crucial also says it can. Well, it CAN"T. I tried it. Also if you look the chip up on intel ark it says it only supports up to 8gb RAM. Wish I had looked there prior to purchasing 16gb. Would like to give less stars because I think they should be honest. But, it's a cool little cheap mother board that does it's job.

So, I bought this and used it for work periodically until I took it home. I installed Windows Server 2016 Standard Edition on it and now use it as a workgroup file server for the house.Even with the roles and features I use, the processor stays cool and runs great. It gets the job done as well.Thank you for a great budget product for a budget server.

could not get my hard drive recognized.

Do not get this if you want to run Ubuntu Linux on it. I bought two of these. After much pain - was able to get Ubuntu 17.04 installed and working. On the second board - with exactly the same 8GB RAM stick but just a larger 4TB WD SATA III hard drive - installer crashes every time - 6+ tries. Second system is a paper weight at the moment. Ubuntu 16.04 won't even run on this board - chipset is too new. I have NEVER had such difficulty installing/running Ubuntu on anything else and I've built many systems.

well. i installed linux and use as firewall/router. it is doing excellent job.

This item works so well, I am using it as my daily computer and my new $1300.00 laptop remains stored in its case. Including the motherboard, 8gb memory card, power supply and tower, this homemade computer cost just $327.63 CDN including GST. ($256.70 USD) (I already had an SSD hard drive from a non functioning laptop that also had a functioning Windows 10 OS.) Basically, my old dead laptop has been resurrected as a homemade desktop and all programs and files work perfectly.

Für Aufrüster: Ich habe die Hauptplatine in einem alten Midi-Tower-Gehäuse verbaut. Die dunkle Hauptplatine sieht gut aus und besitzt 2 Anschlüsse für Lüfter, wobei die CPU nicht aktiv gekühlt werden muss! Der passive Kühlkörper ist ausreichend und vormontiert. Die Stromversorgung (in meinem Fall ein  be quiet! BN256 ATX PC Netzteil 300W System Power B8 80+ ) erfolgt über den ATX-Hauptstecker; es gibt keinen zusätzlichen CPU-Stromanschluss. Als Arbeitsspeicher verwende ich 2x4GB  Kingston HX318LC11FBK2/8 Arbeitsspeicher  Durch zwei gleichartige Riegel läuft das Mainboard automatisch im Dual-Kanal-Modus mit hohem Datendurchsatz. Der Einbau dauert wenige Minuten und man erhält für weniger als 200 Euro ein leistungsstarkes System.Bei diesem Artikel war kein Montagematerial dabei, lediglich 2 kurze SATA-Kabel und die Blech-Blende für die hinteren Schnittstellen.Hinweis: Den Arbeitsspeicher einstecken, bevor das Mainboard ins Gehäuse geschraubt wird. Die Spaltmaße sind sehr eng und man muss ziemlich fest drücken, bis die Riegel einrasten.
