This battery worked really well for my Canon Vixia R-400 camcorder. I was getting almost two hours on a charge, and best of all it is fully decoded (the battery talks to the camcorder) so I was able to tell how much charge I still have, and when the power is about to run out (in minutes). It functioned as well as the original battery but with more charge. I ended up selling the original battery because I was not using it anymore. The charger is nothing fancy but works well. While you can charge this battery using the camcorder, I generally used this charger to charge the battery, because it is so much more convenient. I rarely used the car adapter to charge, but it is nice to know that I have that option. I ended up using this battery for over two years with no problem, before selling my camcorder and buying a 4k model.So in conclusion, this is a great after market battery and charger combo. If you are hesitant about trying third party batteries, I would say that the technology is quite good now so there is no reason to fear. The saving over genuine Canon batteries can be $50-100 depending on the capacity of the battery you purchase. I have also tried other brands with great success. Just make sure that you are getting a "decoded" battery.One more thing. If you see a Genuine Canon battery that is priced very cheaply and is shipping from China, consider that it might be a counterfeit. So that is another reason to use 3rd party batteries. You might be already using it and not even know it.

This battery gave me 3hrs of life. I bought another one that only came with the battery. It was disappointing when it only lasted 2 hrs. I paid less for this one, gave me 3 hrs of life and it came with a charger! Sweet! Fully decoded works well with my camcorder. I need my camera on through out my workday. I'm a surveillance investigator and extra batteries are necessary in the field!

Comes as a package of 3 items that seem to be separate items and not part of a package at all.So basically its a combined purchase.Wall charger is good and has the ability charge battery using provided connector cable to car cigarette lighter plug so that makes charging mobile which is GREAT !Battery specs are above original but only time will tell how long does it actually lasts.Battery came pre-charged. Camera said it has 145 minutes of run time but minutes seem to ran out quicker then they should.I started recording at 14:30 wiht LCD Screen opened and lit up and battery died at16:15, thats 1hr 45 minutes i guess. Exactly as projected by the camera.

Charger doesn't charge BP-718 factory battery - even in 4 hours: red light is still on. Their battery only lasted 58 minutes recording time. I am expecting immediate replacements to be shipped. I will amend this review when I receive servicable equipment. Other of their chargers and batteries have worked in the past.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SOOOO, now I am able to revise the above remarks.Charging ANY battery in the Canon VIXIA HFR500 is faster than using this charger, but........Ignore the number of minutes that this new battery first shows out of the box. After you completely deplete the battery - in just 1 to 2 hours, put it in this charger and wait 7 to 8 HOURS to fully recharge. This is NOT a FAST CHARGER! The battery DOES last for over 3 hours in continuous operation - twice as long as the Canon factory battery, making it well worth the purchase price of $19.99.

Soooooooo was scared to get this at first. Then once i fully charged it I was amazed at how long the battery would actually last. I'll record it almost an hour and a half to two hours worth of video and I still had over three quarters of a battery left. So average you can probably get about a good on medium and low settings six or seven hours of record time out of just one battery!

Not a high quality factory replacement but if in a pinch....

Worked perfectly, absolutely decoded/ battery life displays etc, no issues what so ever. Charger charges both my original Cannon battery and this replacement. Excellent deal for what you get (just check the price of a Cannon Battery $$$). Great Deal and for a change a non factory original replacement product works exactly as stated!!

I like the fact the battery works with my canon hf r800 and it reads battery life. The original battery will work with this charger as well but still takes 8hrs to charge

I have been using this battery and charger for the past 3 months and it works great.

I have only used this battery for just a couple of weeks. It took a charge and the camera (Canon Vixia HF R800) had no issues with using it. It lasts about as long as the original battery that came with the camera. Too early to tell how this will last but so far I think it's a great buy...

Great value. Does what it says it does and reasonably priced!

This actually comes with an extra battery of the type that my camera uses so now I can always have the camera running and when one battery runs out, I can set it to charge, and use the secondary battery to use my camera.

Have used it regularly for 14 months and the charger became inconsistent after 1 year. THe battery loses charge quickly now
