Not good for Creating/Recreating "Vector Art"
Pros - excellent product condition. if this is what factory refurbished means, i will never buy a new one. i would rather save my money by buying refurbished products. a barely noticeable small spot in the working area does not interfere with the function at all. Pen is very good. hard to get used to with that at first. after a while, it feels great. If you are satisfied with the small working area, this is the best tablet you can have in the world at this moment.Cons - i wanted to use this wacom bamboo for creating vector arts from bitmap templates. my target was to use the pencil tool. i hoped that it will give me an edge over the pen tool use by mouse. i looked for reviews all over the internet and in different forums. i found a lot of reviews with a lot of good words from experienced designers. my guess is, they do not use vector creating software like Adobe Illustrator.why is it bad for vector art?Ans - the small working area represents the whole monitor. that means, your bamboo is not precise enough. so, it is as bad as your mouse. i do not create arts or designs. i recreate vectors and most of the templates are low resolution (2"x3"). precision is what i need.my advice - If u are a vector artist, do not buy bamboo. buy the biggest wacom tablet (worth the price) available. otherwise, it will be waste of your money. if u disagree, i want to sell mine to you.*** Seller shipped my tablet through FedEx. the FedEx driver delivered the package to someone else in the neighborhood. i saw the receipt acknowledgement "without signature" at amazon!. i called fedex the next day again to know that the driver has just delivered it to the right address (i was at office and i live alone). the driver had picked up the package from the wrong address and left it at my doorstep (it is on the street and open access). i hung up the customer service and ran to my place to find the package being roasted in the direct sun. anyone could have taken it. this is ridiculous and irresponsible attitude of fedex.

I use it for school
I wanted a simple, inexpensive tablet that I can use to write notes with on my computer. I do not draw unless it is organic chemistry reactions so I cannot speak about drawing with it. I use the tablet daily in Microsoft Onenote. I also use it in Microsoft word and Windows Journal. I actually use it more than I anticipated...notes, homework, quizzes, etc. The tablet is great for me, however, sometimes it does not want to respond. It only happened 3 times in the past few months so I am not too upset and I have gotten it to work after unplugging it and then restarting my computer. I am not sure why that happens.Next, the button on the side has caused more damage than not, so I had to disable it. It is also at an awkward position, so if you wanted to hold it down and scroll the page down, you would not be comfortable. Regardless of those minor issues, the tablet works great and at first it felt different and strange but with continued use it felt more comfortable writing with it, minus the space. To explain, if you are writing at the top of the page it is fine, however if you are at the bottom of the page, the elevation will feel uncomfortable to your wrist. It is always uncomfortable for me to write on the edge, whether it is the sides of the paper(Onenote etc) or the far bottom.Again, if you are just using this for simple note-taking, even on a daily basis then it is a good purchase. The minimum amount of hours that I use it is 10 hours, which only accounts for the classes I use it in. It does not account for use after class or on the weekend. I am sure I use it well over 4 hours a day. I hope the information is helpful.

A great solution to hand and wrist pain
I was having quite a bit of trouble with my wrist after using a trackball for years. My daughter recommended this tablet instead of a mouse or trackball. She was right. It did take some getting used to after years of other input devices but as soon as I got used to it I realized I'd never willingly go back. The pain in my wrist went away and I haven't had any problems since. When I first started selling computers many years ago, a tablet was a big heavy device that cost an arm, a leg, and your firstborn child. I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable price on the Wacom Bamboo. There are two things I would downgrade it for, but not enough to take away a star. It does not come with a stand for the stylus and the loop isn't the most convenient way to put the stylus down securely when I'm working. (I solved that problem by putting some bubble wrap in the bottom of a tall shot glass and I stand the stylus in that.) And the textured surface has worn off the most frequently used areas of the writing surface. That's just an aesthetic issue; doesn't cause problems with using the tablet at all.

Very versatile little tablet...
My daughter loves to draw, but needed to replace her (admittedly cheap) tablet. I was getting sticker shock from the prices on some of the better tablets, when we saw this refurbished one.We received it and plugged it in. My daughter was happy that it worked out of the box, and was even happier that the pen didn't need it's own batteries. That was a major complaint for her old tablet. After a few days use, I had been studying the manual and asked her how the "pressure sensitivity" worked. She didn't know it did that. Come to find out, you have to install the device using the enclosed CD to enable that feature. She's on a driveless Netbook, so it took a little work to accomplish this. Once we had everthing properly installed she was able to take advantage of this feature and loves it.The only (minor) complaints were the smaller size of the tablet, and the minor install issue. Those aren't dealbreakers though...she's gotten used to the size and loves the added features compared to her old tablet.
