A refreshingly good read.
A refreshing book, rather like David Jason's autobiography because it deals with ordinary blokes who worked extremely hard to gain prominence in their fields. Too often we have the 'networking' syndrome in which so called successful people have used connections to achieve success and hailed as celebs etc. When West Ham didn't give him his break, Bullard was patient and thanked the manager, Harry Redknapp for the experience. Another lesson for us all; learn from the bad times. It's lovely to think that his rock in life is his childhood sweetheart, Diane. A lovely story for these modern times - a possible film there (a bit like 'Kes').

Batesy,s take on it all
I've read dozens of autobiographies but none as honest as this . To enjoy everyday , laugh at life and get paid must be amazing and according to JB it is and he is grateful for every moment of it . I would recommend this book to everyone, gifted , deliriously happy , insane, honest !!!! Bullards got it nailed , except the Celtic thing , playing second fiddle to the mighty Rangers may have burst his bubble , great read I hope he does another book

Funny stories, but.....
I bought this as Jimmy Bullard was always seen as a character when he played football and I was interested in his time at Hull City, my local club. Jimmy comes across as a lovely bloke, but with a streak of madness in him. I do find it disappointing to read of so many footballers, talking about the times the drank themselves silly, etc but still made training....

A great read
I read Jimmy's book in a day, it is one of the most entertaining football books I've read, and I've read quite a lot. It's a shame he never got off the bench for England, there was a period when it seemed like you couldn't switch on Match of the Day without seeing Bullard score direct from a free kick. One of England's best free kick takers since Beckham, for me. It is a real shame about Jimmy's injury problems, as it stopped his career early, but he made the most of his talents. One of the great characters of the Premier League era.

Wot A Character
Jimmy Bullard lived life to the full... When he wasn't injured... The dressing room must have been such fun with him around. This book was so NOT boring in any way. Some of our highly paid footballers wrote their books without character. Books full of each game they played. Super passes they made. This book was about Jimmy the Man, who was a very good footballer. It was about him. Would recommend this book to anyone who loves football.

Absolute Bullard
A rambunctious book of different stories from one man who was plagued with serious knee injuries. We may never know how good of a player he could have been. The stories about Jewell, Capello, Brown and Keane are epic. This one man jack in a box is the true tonic that football needs. Herr Bullard, well that would have been funny. Postman Pat, Postman Pat and his black and white cat will never be the same
