Stewart Varese Medium Planter, 35 cm - Dark Brown

A great product at a good price, very quick delivery and well packed.

I bought three of these planters a few years ago. Whilst other plastic pots have faded, lost there colour, these have stayed pristine from the day I bought them. I have just bought another one. Drain hole adequate, though I do get a bit of green algae build up around the flag stones, so have to wash it off now and again. It holds a lot of soil, so I filled it with garden stones and broken clay pots to add additional drainage before filling the planter with soil and compost. Plants do well. I am so pleased and have had lots of comments about how nice they look.

Had already seen these in real life so knew that Dark Brown wasn’t quite the colour on the screen (in fairness the description does say this but you would have to look for it) the colour is darker and not warm like a brown more grey (will try and post a photo in daylight to show when we have put them in garden). These are very well priced and will get more. Have lots of Stewart branded pots and whilst they tend to be more money they are far better quality than cheaper. Would definitely increase size of drainage holes before planting and consider a wheeled stand underneath as obviously very heavy when full!Edit added Sept 2022 - bought another two, one had some scratches at the top but nothing major and as going against a wall it’s fine and would buy again. Have included photo showing colour against a strip of normal parcel tape so you can see it isn’t dark brown

I’ve been looking for a similar tall pot for a while but everywhere I looked they were just silly prices, way beyond what I’d expect to pay! I’d seen this one in a garden centre but it was considerably more than I was prepared to pay so I was thrilled to find it on Amazon at a far more reasonable price! It will need to be weighted down to save it from falling over in high winds but when I finally get round to planting various summer bedding plants I know it will look fabulous! I’m very pleased with my purchase!

I hope that when my 100+ year old begonias bloom in these planters that their blooms and greenery will mask the differing colours of black and gray which is quite apparent when the planters are currently stacked empty awaiting their summer tasks. Big investment, let’s hope my centurions appreciate their new homes

It's sturdy and while it is made of plastic you could be forgiven for thinking it is made of a much heavier material. I have bought a few of them and they are all of the same good quality.
