Character Building Doctor Who Dalek Spaceship Set

This is a Dalek set... Daleks are like the coolest scariest aliens to ever threaten the planet... If you like Lego and like Daleks then this is a no brainer especially at this low price. As a stocking filler of birthday gift it's perfect. The good thing about Character Building Bricks are that they are well made... Personally I don't mix them with my Lego but I wouldn't be upset if they got mixed. The quality of brick is far superior to the softer plastic used by Mega Blocks. It makes for a tighter construction that stays together... I like this model....

My grandson (age 8) and I had 3 attempts to put this together, it seemed each time one part was put together another part fell to pieces, the box states 6+, I think you need a degree in engineering and a tube of superglue! Lol. The idea is sound, but very difficult to put together.

I agree with those that say that this item is valuable, provided your kid is very strong at building. It has not 100% of the lego quality but it is fully compatible, provides hours of fun to the kid and it is nt impossible to assemble, quite the contrary. I recommend it as it is also much cheaper than lego and you can not find Doctor Who lego sets

I have never written a review of a product before but feel I should warn people about the Character Building Dalek Saucer. The main parts of the model are held to together with four lots of two stud pieces. The small skimmer part doesn't stay together and neither do the different elements within the body of the model. It is, as other reviewers have said, incredibly difficult to keep in one piece once built. My 8-year old son became frustrated trying to build it, I took over and eventually built the model, only for it to fall apart as soon as he tried to play with it. I've have spend the whole of Christmas building my son's HM armed forces CB models and my daughter's Lego Friends models with no problems. Unless this model is just going to be put up on display and not played with, I would recommend that you steer clear.

AS the title of the review says, this is poor quality plastic and the pieces do not hold together very well. My son (8) got very frustrated putting this together as no sooner had he attached one piece, it fell off while attaching the next. I won't be purchasing this brand again, and like other reviewers will stick to real Lego in future.

I had to build for my 6 year old. Big challenge but doable. Took a couple of hours. Looks amazing only drawback is that I will need to superglue some bits together otherwise he wont actually be able to play with it without it falling apart. Seems like the bits that fall off are the internal bits that are really hard to reassemble. I would recommend it, (once superglued) really is great inside, detail is amazing. Boys loves it :)

Not sure why this toy has so many bad reviews.For the price ( £13.49) i paid for it and compared to similar toys (i'm looking at you Lego) it's great value for money and pretty solid. It's much better than the ultimate Tardis play set as far as price/build is concerned and you'll be hard pressed to find a set like this for this kind of price. I'm looking forward to Character Buildings new sets for 2014!

my son does like this but gets annoyed when it falls to pieces, the base keeps falling off and the lid of it was so difficult to get off once fixed onto it, it took his dad 10 minutes to take it off, it looks nice, however shame it falls apart

Für 6jährige wohl noch etwas zu knifflig ohne Hilfe. Die Anleitung ist aber prima und das fertige Raumschiff toll zum Spielen. Einzelne Teile lösen sich zwar ziemlich rasch, können aber problemlos wieder angemacht werden. Gute Verpackung und schneller Versand.

Got this in the mail the other day and just built it. Great fun!- Not too complex to put together- No parts missingSome of the assembly portions would cause other portions to pop off that had already been assembled and attached. A little frustrating but you just stick it back on after.1 small gripe, in my box I only got one gold dalek, the other dalek was red and a different size and build. Not sure why that was. Was hoping for both to be gold and look the same/same size. The box shows 2 gold daleks so was kind of surprised to see 2 different daleks.fun collector item, finished product is bigger than I thought which is really nice, worth the buy.

Es el primer set grande que compro de esta marca, y hay que admitir que la principal diferencia entre esta marca y LEGO es la calidad general de las piezas... y el encaje que hacen entre sí. Aunque el resultado final es de una considerable resistencia y robustez, no es extraño que las piezas salten solas, sobre todo las patas y las "bolitas" que tiene debajo.Por lo demás, el aspecto de la nave es muy fiel al de la serie, y la sala de control esta llena de detallitos que hara las delicias de los fans. Tan solo la consistencia final le aparta de una valoración superior.PD: Aunque en la caja se anuncia 2 Daleks drones dorados, el set incluye uno dorado y otro de color aleatorio (he comprado 2 y uno ha sido rojo y el otro naranaja). Tengo entendido que si lo reclamas al fabricante te lo sustituyen, pero tampoco es un detalle importante

Whovians beware the Daleks are getting stronger.Lovely designed toy for me and the boys to play with while watching Doctor Who.This ship is a nice hour or 2 to build. I have found the Character Building sets to be nearly as good as Lego and better than Megablocks but there is some odd choices to the construction here. the ship has the most over-engineered floor I've put together yet the ? Landing Legs ? are laughable. Okay for display purposes but best to just take them off before you handle it at all. Other knocks on the build - Large molded pieces don't fit perfectly for say a display model quality. - cramped interior, so no, you can't materialize the Tardis inside. - No dish for Danny Boy to destroy and lastly I received a defective Dalek. Thought about taking a star away but will see how Character Building customer service goes first.Over all I really like this and would recommend for any building block or Doctor Who fan
