I recently got an embroidery machine and was eager to try my hand at making key chains and lanyards using this webbing. The webbing is a good value at 5 yards in a tight spool, which is easy to cut to whatever length you need for your project. I like the 1” width because it’s useful for many things, keychains, lanyards, belts, dog collars and more. The webbing is a soft cotton, but a nice sturdy and dense weave that feels like it will hold up pretty well to wear. There were no flaws in the few feet that I unrolled for my first project. I got the white thinking it would give me the most flexibility - I can customize colors with my embroidery thread. My embroidery machine is entry level and does not allow you to adjust the speed - it’s all automatic. The internet wisdom said that embroidering webbing for better if you can slow the stitch speed to make sure the needle has time to go all the way through the thicker material. Even with my machine limitation, this webbing embroidered pretty well, just a couple missed stitches that were easy to fix. I did notice that after I cut off the length I needed for my project, the free edge started to fray. So you will need to plan to seal the ends on your projects. For my keychain project, I used clamping hardware and it worked out great. I’m excited by the possibilities of what I can make with this webbing- I may have to get a couple more colors.

This cotton webbing is perfect for my upcoming project! I’m planning to use it for bag making, it feels strong, thick, and durable, not flimsy at all. I’ve already tried some for a belt, and it worked beautifully. The quality is excellent, and I’m very pleased with it.
