Be your own Engineer and Producer at a fraction of a big upscale professional recording studio. Remember keep it simple and full. Who knows you may make a demo and get your own recording contract with this easy to use studio for home computers and we'll see you at the Grammy's with your own hit song ! Software and instruction book included...experiment and see if you can do it.

Somebody at Cakewalk must be doing something right. Guitar Tracks Pro 3 is an amazing upgrade over the older versions.The new interface is silky smooth. The metronome actually works.And, I can finally record at 24 bit 96khz, which I couldn't do with a lot of competitor's software.A lot of great new effects (look under GT FX). Really good new reverb, equalization (called "Q"). The new plugins look like expensive rack mount units that you drool over (but dare not buy) at music stores.Okay, minor complaints that the software defaults are kinda weird (sound on sound record, among others) which are leftovers from the old Guitar Tracks software. Also the record button is tiny tiny tiny.But all in all, for the basic recordist, this is one hot piece of software. If your not at version 3, definitely upgrade. After about an hour of twiddling around, you will be all grins.And as we all know, Cakewalk actually includes a printed manual that a normal human being can use and understand.Hats off to Cakewalk for an excellent upgrade.

This is very difficult to use - not ready out of the box - need to probably get other cords, etc. to connect to computer/speakers - more complicated than I was lead to believe

Within a matter of hours, and without using the manual, I was recording songs with significantly more ease and complexity than on my Boss 8 Track. The interface is familiar and easy to use and it was straightforward using my FA-66 Edirol soundcard with it.My friends say these are my best recordings to date.However, the software has a glass ceiling which i discovered recently. For example, I wanted to use the Cakewalk pluggin session drummer 2 which is entirely compatible. However, what they fail to mention on the website is that Guitar tracks pro cannot actually play midi files within the recording mode. ie i wasted £50 on session drummer. You can use midi input but from then on there are limitations.Hence after 2 months of use I have gone for Cakewalk Sonar 7 instead.I would really recommend Guitar tracks pro 3 to people who want straightforward recording but without a synthesizer element and full use of midi files.
