The right choice for longer hauls and/or varied terrain
Bought this for hauling my wingfoil gear 1 mile+ each way to the beach and for hauling my inflatable kayak 1/2 mi each way to the water. I have to go over paved roads with numerous potholes, speed bumps and finally a very rocky, dirt road. I considered trolleys with airless tires since they cost one third what this trolley with the beach wheels cost, but I had some experience with airless tires and I was concerned about the smoothness of the haul and more importantly, the durability of an airless system over constant 2+ mile round trips over varied terrain. My initial experience is that this trolley was worth every penny. Easily rolled over all the various terrain w/out issue or tipping. The haul was much smoother than my experience w/airless tires. Although I don't have to travel over soft sand, I'm glad to also have that option should I go to a different beach where it would be necessary. The item comes almost fully assembled, all that's needed is to inflate the tires and install them (2 minutes total). This is my initial rating, obviously, any future durability issues could change my rating.

It is large!
Just received the cart today, so this is more of a preliminary review. It is very well made on first inspection. Went together very easily, but I had an issue with one of the valve stems not sealing to the pump fitting. First tire pumped right up, but the second just kept blowing air past the stem. No big deal, I just used another bicycle pump to inflate it to the proper diameter. One of my biggest worries was if I would be able to stow it in the hatch, being that it was nearly one meter from end to end. I have a Cobra Fish n Dive with a very large rectangular hatch, so I just winged it and took a chance. I had to finagle it a bit, but the whole thing and both wheels will fit. That’s important to me because I use my yak for diving and need the room topside for tanks and gear. I can’t wait to try it out this weekend. I’ll post another review about ease of travel over asphalt, boardwalk, and sand that I have to traverse to the beach and degree of difficulty in getting the yak mounted properly for carting…stay tuned.

Makes hauling our Sunfish over sand a breeze!
We have to haul our Sunfish sailboat up over about 30 feet of sandy beach into our boathouse. Even though this was designed for kayaks, it works well for our Sunfish. It used to be a two-person job using a cart with standard wheels, but the baloon tires on this cart make it easy for one person to do it. The frame is REALLY solid, and completely powder-coated paint, so corrosion shouldn't be a problem - we haul out of salt water. The straps are too short to hold the Sunfish, but it was designed for kayaks - we just put on longer straps.

The big bulky wheels make all the difference!
Suspenz Kayak Beach Cart Trailer, DLX Canoe Trolley with Balloon Wheels Sand Tires and Straps:The main reason for getting it was to be able to use it on sandy terrain and it did not disappoint! Solidly built and great performance. Looks and feels nice. Large bulky tires make all the difference.

really good over dry sand
I'm using this under a 17'7" kayak loaded with gear and it crosses the beach with ease. Highly recommended.

Solid well designed kayak/canoe cart
The media could not be loaded. This model from Suspenz is the "flat bottom" cart without much depth in the "V" on the top cross bars, best for canoes and flat bottomed kayaks. The wheels are soft and wide to roll through sand without digging in. They roll smoothly on any surface.First of all there is not much assembly. The frame and straps are already connected so all that's necessary is to pump up the tires to the right size and use the cotter pins to hold them on the axle. Most of the weight is in the 2 tires and wheels. The frame and kickstand are secondary in weight being made of heavy duty aluminum. If you want to make it a bit lighter, other wheels might fit on with some spacers. These tires are made to run soft. The included pump will easily inflate them to the recommended 3 psi pressure. An included cardboard measuring device is included as the rubber is apparently very stretchy and can be damaged if over-inflated. The cardboard lets you know when the tires are inflated to the correct size as a pressure gauge doesn't measure 3psi very well. The frame is a bit large, just over a yard wide but this gives it added stability. Narrower carts tended to twist/rotate a bit under my canoe, especially in the turns. This one attaches to the boat securely with 2 straps and holds its position. All parts fold flat but it's still wide for transport when folded. This doesn't make much difference to carry in a canoe, but it definitely won't go into the storage in my kayak (sit-in sea kayak). It's best to leave in the back of the car or truck to ferry between the put-in and vehicle when you can't get close to the water. The kick stand works well. It has 2 points of contact with the ground which keeps the cart upright while loading the boat. It then pops out of the way by pushing/kicking it toward the axle. The "flat" frame has a nice "V" in the top that allows a canoe keel to fit in. The pads shift a bit sideways to get the best contact. The nylon straps have metal buckles which are easier to adjust than the plastic snap type.Other wheels are available from this manufacturer, Suspenz, per the flyer included in the box that are smaller and lighter if weight is a concern.5 stars - Good solid cart
