Motorcycle Oil Filter

Only filter that includes new gasket and o-ring
I don't know that Fram oil filters do any better or worse job of filtering particulates out of the engine oil than any other filter, but I do know that I haven't found even one other company that includes the gasket and o-ring required for the Yamaha XJ650 and other similar models that use this same filter.K&N filters are awesome, I use their air filters in many of our vehicles. But why pay more for the K&N filter when it doesn't come with a gasket or o-ring? I'd still have to buy those separately and spend even more.I've put over 25,000 miles on my 1980 Yamaha XJ650 in the last 7 years, all that time using only Fram filters, and Castrol 4T 20W50 motorcycle oil, and it still runs like a champ. My last oil change had no metal shavings or oil sludge on the magnetic drain plug.So 10/10 on price for this Fram oil filter, 10/10 because it actually comes with the necessary gasket and o-ring, and 10/10 for filter performance, especially considering how old the tech is for these cartridge filters.

nice filter./horrible quality control.
Edited please see below. comes with all of the mounting gaskets and orings, unlike some competitors that have 2 letters for names. So I’m ASE and AIA Certified, I’ve been working in the Automotive industry since 2001. I’ve done hundreds if not thousands of oil changes. The second time I bought this filter the main housing ORing looked physically thinner than the ORings that I’ve been using, but I thought “you know what I trust Fram”. So I changed the oil anyway, this morning I went out to my motorcycle and I had a few drops of oil under the bike. The first thing I did was get a clean rag and wipe around the drain plug, nope no oil. Just road grime. Then I looked at the bottom of the housing and there was visible seepage at the bottom of the housing. So long story short. Make sure to use the correct size orings. Even though Fram doesn’t always include them.

Worthless o-rings
Filter is fine, o-rings are proper diameter, but all the wrong thicknesses.Put this on my 82 XJ650, and the oil cover would no longer seal. Compared the main housing o-ring to the one I removed (which was flattened) and the new o-ring was maybe 2/3 thickness. Did not seal, constant leaks. Replaced with a spin-on filter conversion. The filter element itself is fine though.

O-rings included, but not the best quality
Needed an in stock oil filter for an older project bike and since the o-rings were included, went with the Fram. Paper element filters appears to be of decent quality and build, but the o-rings were not as thick as the OEM units in the bike and was not 100% confident in their ability to properly seal the filter housing and retaining bolt. So far ok, but wasn't impressed with the lack of attention to detail. If you're main selling point vs. the competition is to include the o-rings, they should be at least equal to OEM specs.

The filter works but the o rings dont!
My Radian leaked after I changed the oil with the filter and o-ring set. Upon comparison the new o-ring is noticeably thinner than the old one. Thankfully I was able to reuse my old o rings with no more issues.

Perfect fit for XJ750 Seca
Perfect fit on my '83 XJ 750 Seca. In fact, a much better fit that some other brands I have tried. The last ones I got were too tight on the core bolt and you had to literally screw them on to it, which was a major pain when trying to work it between the pipes to get it in place. (If you have a Seca with 4 into 1 pipes, you know what I'm talking about.)This one slid right on with a snug, but not too tight fit, so it was much easier to get the cover between the pipes and slide the bolt in after. It also came with a new o-rings, which was a nice plus. This is the first brand I've bought that came with those - a big cost savings if you like to replace them every time.I will definitely be buying these again for this bike. They are the best fitting filter I've found for the Seca.

Not a complete filter for an oil change.
Expected a complete "oil change ready" filter. No "O" ring with this filter making it not workable as I threw out old "O" ring with old filter. Should advertise this as a filter only without "O" ring. Very dissatisfied and will not recommend this supplier to other motorcycle owners in which I come in contact with.

Good product
Product arrived quickly. Included were 2 new 'O' rings, one small for the bolt/unbolt shaft, the larger one for the filter housing itself. My old 'O' rings were not leaking so I just saved the new ones for later. The new oil filter fit just fine,no complaints from me !

Don't use the rubber O rings
Yep, I guess I should have read reviews before installing on my XJ550 Maxim. The O ring is too big and just doesn't seal properly. It is now leaking and I have to do the oil change over again.

Works great on bike
Used in my 82 Yamaha motorcycle and performed great. Nice getting both rubber gaskets as well, some other brands don't include these

All in one box oil filter
That is the best oil filter that I used for my vintage XJ650 Maxim. No worries about finding o rings as they are all in one package.
