Spot-On Addition to Any Fitness Room!
The Gronk Chin-up bar is everything you’re looking for to round out your work-outs so you can achieve the physique that makes you want to take your shirt off every chance you get! It’s nice and wide. So, you can begin with easier narrow grip chin-ups and gradually progress to full-on wide grips to allow you to really hit the lower lats. Plus, the many other grips ensure you can alternate to hit various core, back, shoulder, etc. muscles and to do so in a manner that suits your body, so as to avoid injury. It’s great for knee-ups and leg lifts as well so you can really attack the abs and obliques. The fact that it is so rock solid and can be gripped in so many ways helps you to concentrate on perfect form so you get stronger faster for ultimate results. In other words, your progress is all mental once you get this baby up!The powder-coat finish feels great in your hands...no slipping but without the need for knurling or plastic grips. Combined with a perfect tube diameter, it makes for a great feel when you grab it. It just makes you feel strong and confident...the bar just feels right; so, it’s all up to you to gut it out and get results! Is it ‘a pain’ to mount? Well...sure it takes some forethought, the proper tools, and a bit of work. But, It’s well worth it! Is it ‘out of square?’ The unit is very well constructed...but, sure, there is a bit of variance such that the assembled unit may not be 100% perfectly square. On mine, it seemed one of the holes connecting the bar to the bracket was drilled a bit off and that bracket was rotated slightly because of this. But this type of thing is an easy fix IF you plan ahead.Just ASSEMBLE PRIOR TO MOUNTING AND THEN DRY FIT BEFORE DRILLING ANY HOLES...check where all the holes will end up via creating a template (or see below) and also see if the fully assembled unit sits flat on a hard floor. Mine didn’t, so I planned ahead to put a thick, strong rubber pad under the bracket end that was not going to make flush contact with the wall. Worked like a charm.Instead of messing with a template - I hung the assembled unit by the two top bolts (making sure it was level before drilling second hole) and then marked where to drill the other holes in order to get the anchors in the exact right spots. Yes, the unit is heavy and I had to disassemble and reassemble it a couple of times. But it bolted right up once I’d drilled and set the anchors.Last thing...the included lag screws are CRAP steel. I was able to shear the head off of one of them with my half-inch socket drive. That should NOT be possible! So, I replaced all the provided lag bolts with solid stainless ones (not because stainless is necessarily super strong but because I then knew for sure they were made of good steel.) I was able to then crank down on the new bolts with all the torque I cared to use. That thing is not going anywhere! I also replaced all the flimsy washers that came with the unit. They are too thin and probably poor quality steel as well.Despite having to drop some extra cash on stronger lag bolts, I could not be happier with this unit. Yes, I believe it could absolutely hold 800 lbs...no question.

Perfect for what I needed and built like a tank!
Did a lot of research on multi grip pull up bars. Came across this one and was impressed with the photos and reviews to take the leap. I already had another single bar pull up solution for the last 6 years that worked great but was looking to upgrade. This one is built like a tank and is so sturdy to the wall that it makes an awesome mount for TRX as well. My other did not and I had purchased a separate mount for that and was able to get rid of that all together with this pull up bar solution. To top it off the customer service has been stellar! A part was missing from the kit, just a square cap for the end, but they quickly responded and shipped out a replacement piece today. I used one from my old bar to cover the gap in the interim, but I gifted that old bar to my son and he’ll need it back! My new bar came yesterday at around the same time which was 11am pst on Tuesday, December 29th. I figured I would reach out to Gronk Fitness at some point but late yesterday PM I reached out, they responded quickly and by the same time the next day the part is in route. Great bar, built like a tank, great customer service! While I knew where my studs were, I decided to put some kiln dried 2x6 pieces mounted to the studs and then the bar to those 2x6 pieces, I’m 6-3, 230 lbs, I can’t bend or budge this thing and I’m very pleased. Looks great. Thank you.

Great pull-up bar
I love it now that I have it installed but as others have mentioned, the mounting holes do not always perfectly line up at 48 inches. In my case, once assembled the top holes were 48 but the bottom 47 1/4.The heavy duty construction made correcting it a bit more difficult than one might expect. If anyone else runs into the same issue, I used a pole jack between the brackets to push it out and then all the wholes lined up to 48.After mounting it I removed the pole jack.

Perfect bar for me
I must admit that I was hesitant to spend over a hundred dollars on what is essentially a metal bar, but after receiving the GRONK fitness multi-grip pull up bar I was won over. It is truly one of the most stout pieces of equipment I've seen, and I have no doubt of the 800lb weight rating. The grip size is just right for me (I'd say my hand size is average for an adult male, size Large in gloves), the finish was blemish-free, and it was delivered ahead of schedule. Install was simple and straight-forward for someone with basic skills, and wrenches are included. You will need a drill to pre-drill the holes in the wall. I hung the bar alone, but it would be easier with a helper due to the weight and it's 4-foot span. I have used the bar several times, and I really like the grip options it gives you as well as the fact that I can use it from the front or back, or invert the bar if I want to change height. This is a great piece of equipment for anyone who, like me, does a lot of pull-ups and hanging exercises, especially progressive calisthenics.

Best pull-up bar you will find
Hands down the most versatile, easy-to-use, easy-to assemble product out there. Over the years I have had many, many other products trying to achieve what this product delivers. Sturdy, no movement whatsoever.. I have other options in my garage gym to do pull-ups (power tower, the pull-up attachments on my power rack), and this is the go to every time. I will say you need to have someone with you at installation, as symmetry is important. However, install was extremely easy. Basic tools and simple instructions. Installed in 15 minutes. I would absolutely buy again and wish I had invested in this from the very beginning. Commercial grade, home-gym ready!
