Great book for a translator or teacher of poetry
I love using this book to teach poetry, because it offers examples of how different American poets created totally different poems from the same raw material. In other words, using the prose "trots" of Ghalib's work, Adrienne Rich created a poem that reads like one of her own, and Merwin created one that reads like one of his, and so on. Excellent for devising classroom exercises.

Not good for the money and less poetry contents
Good book for Ghalib's life history and poetry. Could be better with more poems by Ghalib. Contains few of his Urdu poetry
