Works good holds water and easy to read

I love this rain gauge! I stuck it down in a planter outside my sliding door on the patio. It's super easy to read from inside the house and it's accurate. I love the flexibility that it can be hard mounted or stuck in the ground. The only tip I would mention is from a friend of mine who also has this gauge: If you live in a colder climate, be sure to either take it up for the winter or be sure to empty it regularly in freezing temperatures. Because it's plastic (albeit thick sturdy plastic) if you have a fair amount of precipitation and then it freezes, it may crack your gauge from expansion. It happened to my friend, but it didn't phase him. He bought another one exactly like it and now he empties it promptly (which really you should do anyway to have accurate readings haha). So, I think this gauge is an exceptional value for the money.

This gauge is as presented online. It is easy to read and should be easy to install. However, it would have been great if they would have included 2 mounting screws. My old ones are too large for the holes on the new one, so I had to make a trip to the hardware store. Other than that, it's great.

I've compared this gauge to Wundermap nearby stations (containing sophisticated, calibrated rain gauges) for a long time and find it very accurate. Its tapered shape and the fact it is plastic has allowed it to survive mild freezing, frost nights. I normally bring it indoors in the winter but typically miss the first few frosts.

I chose this rain gauge so I could read it easily on the back deck. It has a great design and was easy to install. I am pleased with its sturdiness and durability.

I have a post beside my house just for a rain gauge. Away from the leaves and the eaves.Once in a while I fail to empty it when a freeze happens, and I have to replace the gauge.This style is great because it is so easy to read. The curvature of the plastic acts like a lens.My only complaint is that you have to slide it off the fastening screws to empty it, which is a slight bother.I prefer models where the base stays attached and the top slides on/off the base.But, at this price, this is great. Next time it crack when frozen I will purchase the two piece version.

Had it up all last year. Took down for winter. I like the fact I don’t need my glasses to read how much rain we’ve had.Recommend this water gauge for people like me where the eyes aren’t as good as they were 25 years ago.
