Review: Good price. Work reasonably well. - At around $6, these are a good price on a set of medium quality snips. Work reasonably well, are a good size, have nice grips. Jaws have a spring opening mechanism. Sharpness is nothing impressive but is sufficient. Guessing they will hold up reasonably well but dull quite a bit after repeated use.

Cutting Pliers
So, I wanted some tools of my own because my husband always seems to have his tools with him when I need them. So, I thought I would get these for me. Upon first opening them, I thought they would be great as they seemed to be a good weight and good material. They are also balanced well. But, for me, when using them, they did not spring back when cutting so I had to use my other hand to release. I think they would be better if they do a model upgrade to add a spring device on the handle to help them work better. They are sharp and they did cut well. And, for my hands they were a great size but my husband said they were a good size for him also. For the value for the money, they are a good buy. But the one thing that I wish they had was a spring release type feature.

Handy wire/plastic cutting tool
A must have tool for cutting thick wires and plastic. There are always zip ties that need to be removed and this tool does it well. There is no built-in locking mechanism, so a rubber band works. The cutters are built to last. They have a nice compact size and fits nicely in a toll box/bag. The hand grips are nicely designed and feel good when using the tool. The orange color makes it easier to spot.

These are garbage pliers that won't cut anything.
These are absolutely horrible cutting pliers. First the cutting edge of the blades DO NOT MEET to perform a clean cut of the wire. Instead, as you squeeze the handle, cutting edges pass side by side. Just enough so the wire doesn't cut, it gets smashed between the two edges. Secondly, on the pair I received, one of the cutting edges was not fully honed the entire length of the blade. These are a waste of your time, even for occasional use. No where near what a "Professional Tool" should be. Even though I had low expectations for just a spare pair I needed for small things around the house, these pliers can't even do that. If you want a cheap tool you can buy a better one at HF for less and get a better tool. It will still be a cheap Chinese made tool but at least it will work. Unlike these trashy things. Back to Amazon they go right now.

Great pair of cutters but some machining marks.
The box thinks these are clamps or a wrench. You wouldn't want to sell these at a store if you're a store owner. But the real question is -- how is the quality of the tool? The cutters are roughly 6.5in long. The jaws open to a maximum of about 3/4in. The jaws do match with minimal side to side wobble. The tool is very heavily oiled to prevent corrosion. There are tooling marks visible. When closed, there is no gap between the jaws. The handles are anti-slip. There is a spring to keep the jaws open, but it's not super strong; it won't fight you, but it also might not be strong enough to open them over time. All in all, I think I got a good pair, but the machining marks and heavy oiling tell me that there's a chance you could get a pair which is manufactured better or poorer. All in all, I'd say these are worth the price.

Great for the price -- Very happy with mine.
This is a very decent wire cutter. They are great for cutting zip ties and copper wire. In fact, that's why I ordered them and that's what I use them for. They've proved themselves to be very good at their job. I wouldn't use them to cut steel wire or steel cable [like for picture hanging]... I might use them to cut florists wire and maybe to cut rebar tie wire, both of which are very soft and pliable. Most wire cutters nowadays have vinyl dipped handles for improved grip and electrical shock protection, but even they don't always deliver it... And, you know, sometimes those vinyl sleeves start sliding off at the worst possible time... It's happened to me more than once. That's why I like textured, molded on, grips like this wire cutter has. They stay put and provide the secure grip I like. I'm pleased with that. The handles are spring-loaded too, another feature I like. They have a good rebound that's not overly soft or stiff. Once they are out of the package, though, they remain in the open position. They have no latching mechanism to keep the jaws closed when not in use. I just store them in the package they came in. The plastic molded top keep them compressed. This protects the cutting edges from damage and keeps unwary fingers from getting "bitten" when they're digging around in the tool bag trying to find them. . I think this is a capable wire cutter that will last me a long time for the uses I've described. They are budget friendly [my kind of tool]. The bright handle color makes them a bit easier to find when I've set them down somewhere I shouldn't have. I'm happy with them. Their design is classic
