5.11 TACTICAL SERIES AMP24 BACKPACK Casual Daypack (Black)

Having owned and used a Rush24 backpack for the past decade on a daily basis, it was safe to say I was reluctant to buy a new backpack.However, after seeing the new AMP series late last year, I'd kept a close eye on the AMP24. As I'd grown older, I'd wanted a backpack with the same, capacity, durability and functionality of the RUSH24, but without the aesthetic nightmare of a bag covered in Molle webbing. Travelling with an overtly tactical bag brings a certain attention.So, I finally bit the bullet and purchased a black AMP24 earlier this month, setting aside my beloved RUSH24 of so many faithful years service. I was not disappointed. The AMP24 exterior provides far less options for attachment, but I have found the interior hook and loop system is more than adequate at compensating. The number of pockets is quite staggering and although the bag itself sits about four inches taller, it feels far lighter while maintaining the rugged and quality construction I have known from 5.11 products throughout the years.The AMP24 is in short, a grown up RUSH24. Less overtly tactical, slicker and just as utilitarian. In terms of the hex grid molle, I have replaced this two side access pockets for a more streamlined look. The hexgrid system while appearing flimsy, has however proved to be incredibly stable and strong in tests with old RUSH24 pouch accessories I own.PROS:Weight.Aesthetics.Functionality.Storage space.Storage options.CONS:Cost ( I paid £160 on Amazon ) BUT CAN NOW BE FOUND ON TACTTREE.CO.UK for £129 Ex VATLack of integrated admin pocket / pouch.4.5 STARS. Bought to replace a 10 year old Goruck GR0 that was used like anything before, from city and laptop carrier to sea and trips across, still usable but beatdown and looking like it was retirement time.5.11 created a better, more confortable and more up to date rucksack with the same if not better unnegotiable must haves:- very resilient zippers and easy to use pullers even with gloves- full clamshell- molle/webing system- back laptop protection- confortable shoulders straps far away enough for people with larger shoulders and necks- needs to carry at least 30 kg without issues or ripping off, ideally 45 KG (tested 32 so far)- easy release for shoulder straps- hydration blader compartment- TSA/budget airlines approved size for under the seat- does not dig into your back and allows room for cooler air to ventilate5.11 AMP24 delivers all this and more.- The pouch for glasses is well designed and very handy- the "secret compartment" is fantastic for documents and phone- the internal space for 2 botles of water (2x 1.5 L) makes them silent even in half full and keeps them from the sun or cold.- the hex websing system is better than the traditional molle and the plate is removable.- etc... and so on, you get the idea by now.Cannot have choosen a better replacement/upgrade for the old Goruck.

Pros:*Extremely comfortable, shoulder starts are thick and very soft*tons of pockets and compartments for all your gear.*sturdy; very well built.*it does not scream "tactical/military"*compatible with lots of 5.11 gear creating that perfect ecosystem I love.*great water resistant*2 water bottle pockets(inside of the bag)Cons:*laptop compartment is very small, your 15inch would not fit in there!*back does not stand on its own, it is very annoying.

Very well made. Would love some more MOLLE on the outside, but it is effective as is.

The media could not be loaded.  I think it is a good backpack because I use it every day in my school life. And I also use it during some of my weekend journey to other places. It is comfortable to carry it with me in some hot weather.If you are looking for some bags that are durable and comfortable, you can try this one

As a lover of backpacks this one is by far one of the best. So versatile and well made

I always bought the amazon special bags. They range from $20-$50 from various vendors. After dropping the money on this one I finally feel the difference. That however comes with added weight. Even when the bag is empty you feel like it has something in it. All around this bag should last many years. If not a lifetime.

Ich habe diesen Rucksack für den alltäglichen Gebrauch gekauft und bin sehr zufrieden.Er ist sehr geräumig, was beim Einkauf zugute kommt. Dank der Riemen, und da er keinen festen Boden hat, lässt er sich sehr gut komprimieren für den Arbeitsweg.Erster Eindruck der Qualität ist ebenfalls hervorragend. Für eine Aussage zur Langzeithaltbarkeit ist aber noch um einiges zu früh für mich.

Tengo los dos modelos RUSH 2.0 (12 y 24) de la misma enseña , o marca, 5.11 Tactical, productos buenos, sin embargo, esta mochila se asemeja a un petate con cremalleras a precio muy elevado. La tela es de resistencia 500D, salvo la base que, por cierto, impide que se sostenga de pie. Las cremalleras no están protegidas con tela encima (no hay cubre cremalleras), la espalda es rígida recta, no es anatómica, te haces daño al cargarla, no cabe un portátil de 15.6 pulgadas en el compartimento especializado para ello, sólo dispone de un compartimento principal, con lo que, si te vas al trabajo y de ahí al gimnasio, debes mezclar los materiales de oficina (carpetas, documentación, etc.) con las toallas y las zapatillas deportivas, un desastre. Le haría falta añadir otro compartimento principal. Amorfa la bolsa, con medidas irregulares. Dispone de una pequeña superficie "Hexagrid" para enganchar MOLLE únicamente en el frente. Lo considero un petate con cremalleras muy caro. Hay otros modelos mucho más aceptables y baratos.

The only negative is that these are heavy in weight.However, what you get with 5.11 is genuine high end manufacturing.I use 5.11 jeans and other trousers from this manufacturer. Always pleased with the look, feel and long lasting quality.What I particularly like about this model in black is that you are getting a "tactical" rucksack that doesn't look too"tactical"It's a subtle design and yet, a great design... and actually very practical for hiking or everyday use.Zips and materials are exceptionally high quality.Yes, it's more than double the price of some"no name" cheaper brands but you get what you pay for.This will last!Lastly, it's actually very comfortable to use.Can only highly recommend.
